Wow… I remembered when my second grade teacher read this to me the whole time I was doing the quiz, that's the only time I've ever heard the book. Nicely done!

Do yourself a favor and take five minutes to listen to this brilliant alternate version by Garrison Keillor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--HXoqF9llQ

HUZZAH! Front page! It's sure nice to be back. A breath of fresh air, if you will. I hope you all enjoy the quiz- "Casey at the Bat" was my absolute favorite poem when I was a child, not to mention an enduring classic. Have fun!

I learned this as a child from my grandfather. He was a great teacher and I've never forgotten it nor lost my love of the game. Thanks, Kicking222

These may not be the darkest words, That poets ever wrote; But Ernest Lawrence Thayer Never penned a sadder quote. |

There are SO many brilliant parodies of this poem. That is because the original is so good; it makes it easy to write a great parody version. Keillor's Road Game is my favorite, though. We love this poem so much in our family that our son knew the whole thing by heart when he was three. And today he is a baseball sportscaster.

I want to try the whole poem. I have 95% of it memorized, it would have been a nice challenge!
