maybe use Ubuntu for "U" or Xerox for "X"...else it's a matter of guessing the alphabet for the middle letter.

Yeah, I think "Ziz" would be a better alternative (the Ziz being a birdlike alternative to the Leviathan and Behemoth.)

How about Czech Republic presidents Havel and Klaus? (Vaclav) or the movie Zardoz with Sean Connery.

*shakes fist at Pierrepont* I was about to suggest Vaclav and Zardoz!!! As a non-tennis-fan, I've never heard of Cilic Marin. Is he/she really all that famous? Perhaps "clinic" or "chaotic" or something like that would be preferable?? I agree with the_cgould about the three-letter ones. Guessing is how I got UHU, for example. You might want to use the Swahili word for "freedom" -- "uhuru". It's fairly well-known.

Considering the disputed nature of East Jerusalem, it might be a bit inflamatory to call all Jerusalem dwellers "Israeli."

I would never have guessed 'rumor' from the clue. Also, on GP's note, shouldn't 'rumour' count as well?

@BaddaBing: Trek fans would know. (Just for the record, Roddenberry took the Swahili word for "freedom" and "feminized" it to create the Enterprise's communications officer.)

The only other one I could find for J was the southern Polish city of Jastrzebie-Zdroj, which everybody knows would be soooooo much easier, but alas we already have a Polish city in the quiz so we'll stick with Messrs. James and Jackson.

Being a huge fan of MST3K and bad movies in general, I was always going to get Zardoz. As a huge Star Trek fan, however, I am ashamed for not getting uhuru.

I'm surprised Zardoz is not more well known. It is a movie with great special effects, realistic acting, a coherent plot and many important messages that remain relevant to this day. Oh wait, it wasn't any of those things.
