Very interesting and original. Surprised at the Thai carrier!

I didn't think it was that original--I was surprised it has not quite been done before. I had planned to do more than 5 categories, but that's all the game-creator allows (as far as I could figure).

@Juvo415 actually can you have as many as you want. (I have a quiz that has a category for all fifty states). Of course it becomes harder to see the more there is. Also you should probably decrease the time since most people get the quiz done or give up on Thailand. Two should be enough.

I've updated to top 10, instead of top 5, added some more categories, and changed it to 3 minutes. The stats will be messed up but oh well. Suggestions/corrections welcome.

Anybody else think it's crazy that the UK is third in expenditures, but only makes the top ten in a couple of other catogories? We must be buying some expensive ****, what a waste...

All your bonus answers need to go at the end, or else the stats will be seriously messed up.

I always see like 15-20 military ships every time I'm on vacation in the Stockholm Archipelago. My theory is that they rent them out to the Baltic states and Poland :P

@Tom007 Thank you, took a while but I corrected the bonuses, which should fix the stats.

Under military manpower you have US listed at 2 and India at 3, but there order is mixed up on the list... I'm not sure if I'm being clear.

Also, I remember Obama announced how many nukes the US actually has. It was 5113 as of Sept 2009.

@Skogs Thanks. It got screwed up when I moved the bonus answers around. As far as these data, I know they're in the middle of the New START stuff and dismantling bombs, but I just went with the numbers I found. If I have a new substantiated list then I'll amend it. Plus the order of the countries is probably unchanged.

Canada's military is so bad we don't even get a bonus answer, let alone making one of the lists...Good thing we're allies with USA.

How much military Canada really needs, apart from international "blue helmet" missions, is debatable anyway: if the US declares war, Canada would not stand much chance anyway, other countries are not really close by. About Sweden: I would guess most of these ships are small vessels which try to guard the coastline against smugglers, which is a serious problem around the baltic coastline (major differences in taxes on alcohol and nicotine lead to this).

For all the comments about who has what, nobody seems too concerned about the American military. The Americans have two new carriers coming, so that'll be 13 soon. Also, America is rolling out 2,443 new F-35 Joint Strike Fighters, a project that is expected to cost more than the GDP of Australia.

The US spends more dollars on their military than China, India, France, UK, Russia, and the rest of the top ten list combined, or around what the 3 billion people of the highest spending nations spend. And we're still prone to attacks from terrorists around the globe.

Wow, I like this! As a former US Navy aircraft carrier officer I knew all of those first. The only ones I missed were Jordan and Sweden. Shocked that anything Scandinavian even showed up, especially a neutral country!

Elgin: This quiz used to have only half of the categories, and only the top 5 in each.

Stats show that the percentages of people getting US range from 93.4% to 99.9% - how is this possible?

Very interesting statistics. Hopefully the governments of these countries can start finding ways to reduce these numbers. Probably not very likely but it's nice to dream.

No surprise to see America at the top of most of these lists. America needs a giant army to hold its empire together and to start criminal wars all over the world.

@VengefulQuaker Actually, all forms of popular culture (including sporcle) are products of ideology and therefore reflect the imperial mentality (see base/superstructure). This is why we have quizzes which include Kosovo and Taiwan as countries but exclude Palestine. I have no alternative but to conclude that what America needs is a kind of denazification.

So, USA and Russia seem to dominate here. Kinda scary if you think about it that three tiny bordering countries (Israel, Jordan, Syria) all make the list. Oh and I like the bonus for nukes in Iran!

~2000 nukes to wipe out the entire planet. Nice to know that the US and Russia combined can do it almost 10 times.
