So basically this is just a quiz to name the 40 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S.?

LA, DC and NYC in the top 40 safest metro areas? Where'd you get this data? Crack Magazine? I agree with bsd987, this is basically naming the largest 40 metro areas in the US anyway.

I got Philadelphia right, and I thought "huh". Then I kept going and I actually laughed. Bad idea, bad excution. If you disagree with me, then first see how many of these same answers are on the highest murder rates quiz.

Detroit? You mean "The Murder Capital of the USA"?

New York is actually incredibly safe, but DC, not so much.

The ranking was of the safety of the 40 largest metros, so Detroit (or whatever city) being on list doesn't mean they're one of the 40 safest metros, it just means they are one of the 40 largest metros.

@whatever-still, this data seems pretty iffy. the first couple of cities seemed pretty accurate, but seeing detroit and los angeles in the top 20...

Funny how some of these were at the top of the "Most Murders" list...

And why do we have to type Washington DC when you tell us it's in the District of Columbia? Washington should be accepted.

@imri In Gaijin's defense, NYC's metro area includes Newark and the rest of northern Jersey, which has some pretty iffy areas. As do Long Island and upstate, for that matter. But the city itself is, by and large, very safe.

This list is BS. Detroit and Cleveland are top ten most dangerous cities every year.

This quiz should make a note of two important elements within the source: 1. It is a ranking of the top 40 metro areas based on safety and 2. It ranks a number of different factors, including workplace and commuting fatalities, not just crime rates (or place like Detroit, Cleveland, and Philadelphia would be way at the bottom).
