	I knew that part of Libya's official name was "Libyan Arab Jamahiriya," just couldn't spell Jamahiriya properly or get the full name of the country. Also knew Brazil was a federation of some type, but alas, I missed that one as well.

	Thanks everybody. I've had these names (well, most of them) stuck in my head ever since my dad let me have his old 1989 Times Atlas when I was a kid. I derived much of my love of geography from that book, and it's nice to give it an outlet!

	Great quiz! Perhaps also do an extension to all countries at some time? And I, too, have most of those stuck in my mind, because I find it interesting what some countries put in their names. I missed only Libya here, but I at least got the idea right and I think my error was an extra h in "Jamahiriya".

	Nice quiz, but you should think about adding the names in the countries' own languages. For instance, I knew 'Bundesrepublik Deutschland' and 'Republic française' but couldn't think of English names. (Which was kind of stupid for the last one, I'll admit.)

	Thanks for the tip, Onno -- I went ahead and added the country names in their native languages. For non-Latin alphabets, I just used the English transliteration given on the nation's Wikipedia article, substituting accented letters and such for the simple versions.

	@helios: Sadly, according to the State Department link the official name is simply "The Republic of San Marino," and the CIA World Factbook agrees: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/sm.html -- I don't know why Wikipedia says otherwise.

	re: burma vs. myanmar: my understanding of the situation is that the country itself now goes by myanmar upon a change of name in 1989. the u.n. accepted the name change but the u.s., (i think) due to their support of the old government that was overthrown by the group that changed the name, still calls it 'burma.' i think a lot of the western world follows the same protocol and continue to call it burma. as far as the country itself and the united nations are concerned, however, the official name is 'the union of myanmar.' someone who's smarter than i am can feel free to jump in and correct me though.

	It's not what the State Department says is the official name, it's what the country itself says. So, Union of Myanmar. By the way, in Burmese 'Burma' and 'Myanmar' sound very alike – 'Burma' being the common name for the country (roughly equivalent to 'Britain' for the UK), and 'Myanmar' being a much more highbrow, literary term.
