Note: I only included the historical figures portrayed by actors in this movie. i.e. There is a ping-pong paddle with Mao on one side but he was not included because there was no actor portraying him.

Very good quiz idea. I'm amazed that I knew Hoffman but forgot Cavett

@Evan: It says "organization" which I intended to mean the entire group not one particular person from it.

Nice unique quiz! Also, accept "Nathaniel Bedford Forrest" for Nathan Forrest?

@ Evan: I agree. The instructions clearly say, "Enter A CHARACTER in the box below". A particular Black Panther (which you thought the quiz was looking for, and so did I) would be "a character", but "Black Panthers" is not a character. @ Karras: I agree with you too; however, isn't it easier to just type "Forrest"?

@Eliot: Ok, that makes sense. I changed it. It now says enter a "character (or group)". Thanks for the comment.

I don't recall Nathan Bedford Forrest actually appearing in the movie.

There was one flashbackish scene when Gump is talking about who his mother named him after. It shows Nathan Forrest putting on the KKK mask and riding off with other clan members on horses. It's a short scene.

Was it actually said to be Bear Bryant? Wasn't it more or less just strongly implied by the Crimson red uniforms and Forrest being from Alabama?

No it was not actually said to be Bear Bryant, but it never said it was Elvis either. It just had him play "Hound Dog" and showed a video of him dancing. The coach in Forrest Gump was a college football coach for a college in Alabama. He also had Bear Bryant's trademark checkered hat.

Sonny Shroyer is credited as playing Bear Bryant in IMDB. To quibble with your first criterion, most of these people were not "portrayed by actors" - Zemeckis used archival footage and spliced in Forrest Gump.

@johnlk: Yes I know some of the people were not portrayed by actors, especially the Presidents. But they did have voice actors that did the dialog so they were "kinda" portrayed by actors

The Cavett/Lennon interview didn't have voiceovers, did it? I don't think Wallace spoke in the movie, it was just the scene of him standing in the doorway.

Just take the Black Panthers out. They don't fit with the rest, since no specific historic Panthers were in the movie.

Ok looking at the amount of points the comment about the Black Panthers have, I will remove them from the quiz.

He had on a houndstooth hat, Bear Bryant's trademark (though he looked NOTHING like him).

I know he didn't look that much like Bryant but since he had the hat, and he was coaching in Alabama in the movie. It was definitely portraying him.
