| @LisaSimpsonOH: all these words come from Latin, language in which they were spelled exactly like in English. In Latin there was an antonym for "ulterior", namely "citerior", but it's no longer used in English if it ever was. Curiously in Spanish (no surprise that all the words are also spelled like in Latin) the word "citerior" still exists but is very seldom used. Being a native speaker of Spanish, I had to look up in the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy to check if it's an actual Spanish word. It is. |
