Honorary Mention goes to "Twelfth Night, or What You Will", Shakespeare's joke on subtitles, as it isn't a book. I found a lot of obscure books that I left out, but if there are any suggestions I'd be glad to consider them.

Well, the actual book doesn't have a subtitle, but the version that Humbert Humbert writes WITHIN the book definitely does.

Nice. I was actually thinking of making a quiz like this - good selection.

Great quiz idea. I never knew Tess of d'Urbervilles had a subtitle, and a rather smug one at that.

Interesting quiz, I got the dog one because of research I had done for one of my quizzes. Sporcle does teach things

Really interesting. Masters in English, read most of them, who'd have guessed I'd fail miserably. Good job.

You should add Charles Darwin's "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life".

Good call! The problem is that it's a tad long, to the point that it drastically messes up the format; however, it's such a good example that I used it as, well, the example.

For JRRT, I tried every variation of the (rest of the) LOTR series titles, then finally remembered the correct book. Great quiz. Challenging, but fun.

I'd like to see Tess d'Aubervilles as an accepted answer. Doesn't seem right not to have it.

The author initial column ended up being more helpful than the actual subtitle clues. :D

Somehow I totally missed the author initials column. Not sure it would have helped..

Enjoyable. I was disappointed that my own favourite ("...To Say Nothing of the Dog") wasn't there, but I have learned some new ones.

I would recommend creating an alias for "One Hundred and One Dalmations" to the actual title. "The" vs. "One" seems a bit picky.
