Again, very thorough. 77/109 - didn't get a lot of the 2D ones.

You know what would be awesome? A quiz about those little titles that pop up before boss fights in OoT, MM, and TP. Anyway, great quiz. Just reading the name Gyorg makes me want to rip my hair out though.

Very nice quiz! Only missed most of the ones from Zelda II, LA, and OoA. One question though: how come you split the final boss of Phantom Hourglass into its three components, but Majora's Mask, Incarnation, and Wrath are all just one answer?
Oct 24th, 2009 at 07:28 GMT
Great quiz. You should count "Dethl" for the answer to the final boss of Link's Awakening--I've never heard him referred to as anything other than that.

Oh, sorry to bring it up again, but I just noticed one more thing. Shouldn't Phantom Ganon also appear under Four Sword Adventures? I'm pretty sure that he was the boss of the first world, and then again in the fourth or fifth world where he split up into four phantoms. I feel like there are some others from that game that also didn't make it in...
Oct 25th, 2009 at 00:08 GMT
I took out Bellum's other stages, and also made 'Dethl' the main name (but still allow Nightmare, just because he's constantly called the nightmare of the Wind Fish.) Phantom Ganon is more of a miniboss in FSA from what I recall.

I'm pretty sure the final boss you fight in Zelda II is not Dark Link. It is Link's Shadow or Shadow Link. This is different from the Dark Link found in Ocarina of Time. Arrghus is the boss in Link to the Past, not Arrgus. This is a good idea, but this needs to be done correctly. You may also want to consider letting Gohma work for Queen Gohma, and you might want to do that with other common names for bosses.

Really? Because I don't see how he's any less of a boss than the Helmaroc King, Jalhalla, or the Dodongos (unless multiplying by four in the secnd fight demotes him, but the Dodongos do that too). If anything, I would at least say that the bosses at the end of the third (final) level for each world are the real bosses, and the rest are minibosses. So calling Phantom Ganon (1-3 and 5-3) a miniboss and the Helmaroc King (3-2) a boss doesn't make much sense. Therefore, I would say add Phantom Ganon, Stone Arrgus (or just Arrgus), Moldorm, and Frostare (or just Kholdstare) to that list, and if you keep the Helmaroc King, then Manhandla, Gohma, and Dark Link should be added for being no different boss-wise (aside from showing up twice instead of once, which Dodongo and Jalhalla also do anyway). Well... maybe not Dark Link, due to SERIOUS repetition. Ironically, none of these changes would really affect results, because people would get these same names from earlier games. I just prefer accuracy. And sorry for making such long comments without saying that I do think this quiz is fantastic!

Fine, given it won't affect results.

Great quiz! I remembered alot more, just wasn't sure of the names.. :|

I got 90/110, although I think you should addon some more time. @BluePikmin: Helmaroc King, while not being a "true" boss, is very widely considered one. I think youshould also add the extra bosses from Link's Awakening DX and A Link to the Past/Four Swords. Perhaps also the ones from Spirit Tracks. Aside from that, it's a good game.
Dec 29th, 2009 at 11:44 GMT
you HAVE to add in spirit tracks. do it!
Dec 30th, 2009 at 04:57 GMT
I third the Spirit tracks sentiment.

I nominated this quiz!

PATRA IS A BOSS TOO! yeah, I dunno. I'm pretty sure that patra is technically a boss in zelda 1, and most certainly in oracle of ages. At least, I think it was ages. It was one, or another. patra was the boss that was the flying eyeball with smaller eyeballs surrounding it that you had to switchhook out of the air to slash. at least, I think that is what you do. but I know for a fact that patra is a boss. either that, or I am spelling it wrong.

I'll be honest: I have no idea why this quiz's rating is only at 3.54. It's already gotten plenty of praise
several nominations. The only thing about it I don't really care for is that it's a little too lenient on alternates for the Gameboy games, but I completely understand why that's the case. Perhaps an editor's pick will get an answer out of someone? It certainly deserves the pick anyway.
Nov 21st, 2010 at 09:23 GMT
you need to accept more alternates.
Nov 24th, 2010 at 14:21 GMT
bp3500: He has Patra in Ages-- except in that game he was known as Eyesoar.

Got 'em all except the OoA ones.. haven't actually played those games. Great quiz!
Feb 2nd, 2011 at 23:41 GMT
It's a great quiz but you should give a little more time.
Apr 27th, 2011 at 04:23 GMT
Why did I try that quiz?!? I only remember Ocarina of Time's bosses ¬¬ (I didn't play lots of Zelda games). This is a good quiz, but I think you should accept Gohma in Ocarina of Time, because her name is indeed Gohma and not Queen Gohma. When you encounter her you see : Parasitic Armored Arachnid - GOHMA (When you see it Gohma is in capital letters, I wanted to type it exactly as in the game lol xD)

Could you possibly accept Lanmola for Lanmolas? :-/ Fantastic quiz though :-P 59/118, exactly half

can you put the bosses in for skyward sword
Dec 3rd, 2011 at 17:53 GMT
Thought I had, guess my computer messed up? In any case, only included Imprisoned once but Ghirahim three times because Ghirahim's dungeon-style and Imprisoned is just three rounds. Also included Levias and Bilocyte together as it's really just a two-round fight. Anybody who's got a problem with this, feel free to tell me why and I'll take your thoughts into account.

Woohoo! Got them all! Great quiz, should definetly be published!
