| The deployable strength column is a bit of a misnomer. For instance the British Army consists of 6 Brigades totalling around 100 000 men; yet at the moment only one of these Brigades is deployed at a time with one brigade preparing for deployment, the other four brigades are either training, resting or carrying out other duties. Similarly with ships, not every ship in the RN will be deployed at once, some will be refitting and some will be on leave. Therefore, it is inaccurate to say all 192000 men of the British Armed Forces are deployable at the same time. I assume it is the same in other countries |
