	Your definition of "state" is a bit wonky. If you're looking for teams that have the names of states in them, some of the New York teams don't apply; "New York Rangers" definitely refers to the city, especially as they have the Sabres and Islanders with whom to contend. And if you're looking for teams that represent states, you'd need the Warriors.

	If you're going for the names of states, there are the Washington Nationals, Washington Redskins, Washington Capitals, and Washington Wizards. They don't play in Washington State, but the New York Jets don't play in New York state, either.

	New York teams do count because the Rangers play in Manhattan, The yankees play in the bronx and the mets in queens. Thats true the Jets don't play in New York but when there team was created they did.
