I'm likin' it! A couple things: I'm not sure I'd accept New York for East Rutherford (unless Ryan Seacrest was like "Here we are in New York!" but the auditions were actually in East Rutherford). Also, Kansas City pops up when you just type Kansas. And don't forget to link to your source!

The Foxboro auditions were considered Boston auditions, please fix.

Can no-one in Phoenix or Baltimore sing? And what about Alaska?

I said it 2 years ago, and I'll say it again, the Foxboro (and yes, please accept that spelling as well) were considered the "Boston auditions" in Season 5. There was an audition held in Aspen, CO during season 11 that you accept for Denver, so the same should be accepted for Foxboro/Boston.

I'm just shocked that Baltimore has never been visited.

If Foxborough is considered Boston the East Rutherford and Newark should be considered New York.

Can you please specify here that you mean the 'cattle call' (i.e. first round) auditions and NOT the cities that are aired with the judges? Just to take this year as an example, they were presented as Baton Rouge and New York, even though cattle calls were New Orleans and Newark.

I don't know much about American Idol so I just started guessing US cities and that worked out pretty well. Surprised, though, that they went to Puerto Rico and Honolulu but never to Phoenix, Albuquerque or Baltimore.

Like some of the points debated above, the Glendale auditions were billed as the "Phoenix auditions" so that should be accepted.

So Foxboro is Boston but Pasadena isn't LA? All I ask for is a little consistency. Never thought to guess Pasadena, Glendale, or some other cities because I figured suburbs would fill in for their major city as was the case with Foxboro.

East Rutherford isn't New York? OK, I know it's in Jersey, but both the Giants and Jets play there, and the MetroStars/Red Bulls played there too.

Los Angeles gets you Pasadena, Boston gets you Foxboro...but New York doesn't get you East Rutherford?

@Emerald_Fusion They actually scheduled auditions for Anchorage, Alaska one year but they were cancelled at the last minute. I think it was considered too expensive and unfeasible. Plus, it was the season after they had the Honolulu auditions, which were very controversial. As the voting at the time was based on time zones and also based on a few toll-free phone lines, there was some concern that the Hawaiian competitors had an unfair advantage. Their main voting block had several hours of voting all to themselves whereas mainland fans of the show had to compete against everyone else in their time zone to get a vote through (if everyone on the East Coast or everyone on the West Coast is voting at the same time, there's a lot more busy signals than Hawaii voting all by itself).

By my count, the cities with a 'Big Three' sports thea that have not been visited are Baltimore, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Buffalo.

@bchovanec: And Green Bay... and Tampa... and Oakland... and Anaheim... and possibly others. So your count wasn't very good.

Savannah, Georgia was the first audition site in Season 11.

@skudrafan1: I would say San Francisco would count for Oakland and Los Angeles would count for Anaheim as they are in the same metro area. But good call on Green Bay and Tampa.
