I'd say Prince and George Michael were fairly big deals, too. And all though he may not be as obvious as a pop icon, I would venture to guess that Phil Collins has more #1s than any of these other than the Jacksons, Mariah Carey, and maybe Madonna.

You need to rename the title. Michael Jackson and Madonna are the only 2 actual ICONS on this list. Mariah Carey and Prince could be legends, but not icons. And Britney Spears, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, etc? Give me a break.
