Novosibursk and Irkutsk are most certainly in Asia, not Europe. Not sure about the others, since I haven't heard of a few of them. Anyway, Istanbul, which is at least partially in Europe, is MUCH larger than Irkutsk.

Also, I'm pretty sure Naples is larger than Novosibirsk.

I might also check whether Barcelona is larger than Berlin.

i have changed the russian cities to those which are in europe. berlin is definately larger than barcelona. novosibirsk is larger than naples but i've changed it because novosibirsk isn't tecnically in europe.

Omsk is also in the Asian part of Russia. In European Russia there's Orel (only 323,000 inhabitants, but I don't know if there is a larger O-city elsewhere in Europe).

I had commented "Orel... I don't know if there is a larger O-city elsewhere in Europe". When I saw the new clue "Norway" I couldn't believe I missed THAT one... well, this is Sporcle.

you should accept the alternate spelling Dnepropetrovsk. Also, why not Yekaterinburg, which is widely accepted to be on the border between europe and asia much as istanbul (there is a monument to the border in the city area)

i originally had yekaterinburg but changed it due to feedback about the russian cities being in asia. however, if it is deffinately partly in europe then i will change it back.
