	Some of these are iffy. I'd argue that Ireland, Nauru, and maybe Rwanda are two syllables. You might get a hard time about Israel, Saint Lucia, (The) Philippines and Netherlands, and maybe some others. East Timor as a bonus?

	Kiribati is pronounced KIR-I-BAS, its 3 syllables. And I agree, Tunisia and Nauru I think are 2

	Nauru, Rwanda, and Tunisia are all definitely 3 and are rightly on the list, at least when using their most standard pronunciations.

	Where are Libya, Kiribati, Cape Verde & Netherlands? Also Ireland, Tunisia & Nauru should definitely not be on this list. Ireland is supposed to be Ire-Land, just because it's commonly mispronounced I-er-land doesn't make it three syllables. The end of Tunisia is not a 'sh' sound like Croatia so the 'i' and 'a' are separate syllables.

	Okay, I'll add to the argument: I think Libya, the Philippines, and the Netherlands should be on here, possibly (The) Gambia, and probably East Timor and Vatican as bonuses. Ireland shouldn't be—it's pronounced IRE-LAND, two syllables. In reply to previous commenters: Tunisia is pronounced TOO-NEE-ZHEH, three syllables, at least in US English; Nauru is NAH-OO-ROO, three syllables; Cape Verde is CAPE-VERD, two syllables.

	Netherlands no? Hungary yes...I suppose, depending on how you pronounce it. Philippines? Timor-Leste/East Timor? Libya? Gambia? Croatia & Tunisia I guess. The M is not pronounced in Myanmar (pronounced YAN-mar). I'm assuming you threw 'the' in there for Philippines, Netherlands and Gambia.

	I don't think it's fair to include 'the' because most Sporcle quizzes don't. Those three (Philippines, Netherlands, Gambia) should definitely be there. Côté d'Ivoire is four syllables (coh-tay-dee-vwahr) -- there's an accent over the E. And Israel is definitely two syllables (iz-rail). And I always thought you do pronounce the M in Myanmar?

	@hlweissman: like Hubbadestahs says, it is pronouced KIR-RI-BASS, so it is definitely 3 syllables. I think Ireland should be on here too, it is pronounced "IRE-LAND" not "EYE-LAND" and is clearly 3 syllables in my view.

	In British English there are several inccorect in the quiz and/or comments. Ireland (eyer-land) and Cape Verde (cape vehrd) are two syllables. Netherlands (neth-er-lands), Philippines (fil-i-peens), Hungary (hun-ga-ree), Gambia (gam-bee-a), Nauru (na-oo-roo), Libya (lib-ee-a), Croatia (crow-ay-shu) Rwanda (ruh-wan-da) and Israel (iz-ray-ul) are three syllables. Tunisia (Tyoo-niz-ee-a), Timor Leste (tee-more-lest-ay) and Malaysia (mal-ay-zee-a) are four syllables. This is why you need to specify what accent you're using when dealing with syllables.
