Missing iridium (Greek goddess of the rainbow - iridium salts come in many colors - and messenger of the gods), and cobalt (German kobold, sort of like a goblin, but see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kobold). Otherwise a good quiz.

well-researched(considering some of the other mythology-based quizzes on this site), and thought-provoking. Its interesting to ponder the elemental names in light of their spiritual and legendary connections.

I've added Cadmium as a bonus. It seems likely that the element was named for cadmeia, greek for earth, but that cadmeia is from Cadmus, legendary founder of Thebes. I don't think the others are one step removed like that, but I could be wrong.

See, this doesn't really work. Cerium is named after the asteroid Ceres because they were discovered the same year. The element is not named after the mythological thing directly. Europium is named after Europe which is named after Europa. Palldium is named after Pallas the asteroid which was also discovered the same year. Neptunium is named after the planet, not the god, etc.

would point out that uranus/ouranus was not a son of gaia he was gaias husband and father of the titans. also the titans were not the first sons of the earth those were the hecatonchires and the elder cyclopes.
