I thought an extra 30 seconds would be nice. Some of those are tough to spell. Maybe I just need to work on my spelling.

I think you might be missing Philippians as there is no ... after Peter and Philemon.

I ran out of time so you might want to add another minute.

One minute is the correct amount of time. What is the point in having a quiz if there is no time pressure? Get with it.

I was surprised at the fact that a minute was actually perfectly adequate (even taking into account a few spelling mishaps along the way)

Good quiz. The time is perfect for 18 answers. Can't believe I missed Genesis, though.

Zachariah should be an acceptable spelling, unless you want to specify an edition of the Bible (e.g. King James).

mikeman has a point. This should specify that it only accepts the books in the Protestant Bible (or add the deuterocanonical books as acceptable answers). It took me a few seconds to realize what was going on when I typed Sirach and it wasn't accepted.

Odd that "S" took me the longest to come up with one. And also odd that I spelled Habakkuk right the very first time. :-) Good time limit.

Not bad considering I'm agnostic. More people should name their kids Obadiah

Yeah, you definitely need to specify which Bible you're using. It's certainly not the Catholic one (Baruch, et al. are missing). It took me a bit to realize that these were not included.

I agree with my fellow Catholics, although I can pretty well ascertain that Protestant versions will be used for most of the Bible-themed quizzes here.

I think they should give us 2 minutes... some of the names are long and hard to spell in a minute. And Meltha, Tobit is only in the Orthodox Bible; this quiz probably is for the Protestant Bible.

Can we get denomination-specific books as bonuses/alternate answers, perhaps? As a Catholic, I was confused why there was no "W" and why "Tobit" wasn't an acceptable "T" answer.

@jtmaxwell: The Council of Nicea did not draw up the canon at all. It's a bit complicated when things got finalized, but certainly when St. Jerome created the Vulgate books such as 1/2 Maccabees and Tobit were included. You should be saying that we can't blame Luther for removing the books from the canon.

I'm very excited that I did this in 30 seconds! I think before you try this quiz it'd be good to practice with the books of the Bible quiz first, which has a longer time limit...or learn the song that I got taught in Sunday school!

When you start, you think "this will be easy" until you realize how long the names of most Bible books are. While I think it's safe to assume all sporcle quizzes follow the KJV of the Bible, I also agree that the Bible version needs to be specified, as there are so many different translations (i.e. King James, New American, Good News, etc). Other than that, Great Quiz!

Why don't the apocrypha ever count as books of the Bible? They're part of the Bible for more than half of the Christians in the world. Martin Luther just thought he could remove them because they didn't agree with his theology.
