	"Nertz" isn't right--it's in the dictionary as an alternate spelling/pronunciation of "nuts" as an interjection. "Malarkey" means "nonsense," so it's just a random guess which word meaning "nonsense" you mapped to which. Fun idea, not well executed.

	@thirdreel- Nertz is absolutely right. You've missed the point of the quiz, which is to guess the 1920s use of the word, not the current use of the word. If you look in the dictionary, you'll get a very different definition of jelly beans, gimlet, clams, friend and others from what their slang use was in the 1920s. Fun comment, but not well executed.

	Some of these are still commonly used British slang nowadays, actually. Gams became a popular one amongst a...ahem...specific class of Londoner a few years back.

	I was going to say - I'm British, and am familiar with blotto and sozzled, gams, wet blanket and the bees knees. Seeing a man about a dog is also in common usage although it means various different things.

	Bee's knees can also mean amazing. "Mularkey" is no spelling I've ever seen before. Seems the previous commenters all agree on "malark(e)y". And was it ever truly used in an exclamatory sense like that?

	@Hejman: A good dictionary gives you a history of the words, not just the current usage. You spelled malarkey wrong. American Heritage Dictionary says it means "exaggerated or foolish talk usually intended to deceive." Phonus Bolonus (phony baloney) is a better fit with that. "Horsefeathers" means the same thing today that it meant in the 1920s - "Nonsense."
