Nice quiz Hejman. Maybe a minute more for people to try to think of the titles you came up with (I only got two).
Mar 2nd, 2012 at 04:21 GMT
Thanks ambition, I had actually intended to increase the time and then forgot to do it.
Mar 2nd, 2012 at 05:03 GMT
@Hejman, the Wizard of Frank Oz would be at the top of my Netflix queue. (Looks like you're missing a letter in Montezuma.)
Mar 2nd, 2012 at 08:34 GMT
@ Hejman: You might consider accepting Dirty Harry in addition to Harry Potter since your answer is a spoof of both movies.
Mar 2nd, 2012 at 12:08 GMT
@BekBek- The quiz already accepts Dirty Harry.
Mar 2nd, 2012 at 14:20 GMT
I'm guessing you got the idea after playing this quiz yesterday: http://www.sporcle.com/games/sproutcm/AlteredMovies1. I'm glad the only one you reused was Jurassic Pork though.
Mar 2nd, 2012 at 15:45 GMT
I guessed Alice in Dollywood and was disappointed when my favorite Dolly-related theme park was not accepted. Hejman, please make my dollywood dreams come true.
Mar 2nd, 2012 at 15:51 GMT
@epicirish- In all honesty, I hadn't played sprout's game and have been working on this for weeks. In fact, I've been carrying the list of movies around in my pocket and adding them when I thought of them. Also, now that I've looked at sprout's quiz, it wasn't featured yesterday, it was featured a year ago yesterday (March 1, 2011). @mselby- Anything for you. Alice in Dollywood is added.
Mar 2nd, 2012 at 22:44 GMT
Fair enough, sorry for the accusatory tone if what you say is true. I just played his quiz yesterday because it was on the home page as most popular in 2011 and then I played yours today and they were similar ideas with one common answer so I assumed and expected some kind of reference to his.
Mar 3rd, 2012 at 15:29 GMT
@Hey all, I can assure you that Hejman's quiz is actually the sequel to his movie google quiz that was published this week. He even showed me this quiz before he published it to ask me what I thought of it, and I really liked it. For me, I certainly didn't think this was anything like my quiz from last year at all, and anything like that is purely coincidence. I approve this quiz and this message.

extra points for guessing the sequel?
Mar 31st, 2012 at 04:54 GMT
Schindler's Bucket List.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 05:04 GMT
At first I thought 7 minutes seemed a bit long but then I wasted a good 3 minutes laughing at the Spock answer, so the extra time was much appreciated. Too funny!
Mar 31st, 2012 at 05:26 GMT
so the day after the day after tomorrow is three days from now? (such an easier name to remember)
Mar 31st, 2012 at 05:35 GMT
funny and challenging: this quiz has it all
Mar 31st, 2012 at 05:40 GMT
How about: genetic experiment twins find out that they have a long lost brother... of a different race! Hilarity ensues!
So funny, that's too dumb, even for Hollywood!
Mar 31st, 2012 at 05:41 GMT
Does anyone else think that the Fairy Godfather would have been much preferable to the Godfather III, or is that just me?
Mar 31st, 2012 at 05:42 GMT
Ugh. Just. Ugh.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 05:53 GMT
Hejman, fun and silly. I agree with the doctor above that a differential scoring system would have made it more fun--two points for sequel (I had a lot of extra time to noodle around with these) or one for the original.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 05:55 GMT
"Dirty Harry Potter" made me laugh way too hard...
Mar 31st, 2012 at 06:25 GMT
What I mean is, I actually typed "The Wizard of Frank Oz" for the first one, and expected them all to work that way. Oh well.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 06:27 GMT
Mar 31st, 2012 at 07:22 GMT
Another possible title for the Alice and Dolly Parton one- "Alice in Wonderbra."
Mar 31st, 2012 at 11:18 GMT
@tim0786: Presumably that's the gnu version ?!
Mar 31st, 2012 at 12:23 GMT
Trust me, you're not the first one to have come up with Twilight: Breaking Wind.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 12:31 GMT
Could that be a Community joke hiding in the Miss Piggy/Glenda the Good Witch switch-up?
Mar 31st, 2012 at 13:08 GMT
The Green Mile is set in Georgia. Dead Man Walking is the one set in Louisiana. Any chance we could get this fixed?
Mar 31st, 2012 at 13:41 GMT
Kind of amazed I remembered how to spell Ferris Bueller (Faris Buler? Feris Buhler?).
Mar 31st, 2012 at 14:18 GMT
Good idea for a quiz, but not well executed. You apparently wanted the original movies, but the "clever" sequel names came up as answers instead. I actually typed Wizard of Frank Oz and that came up as the answer. I clearly understood what you meant with that clue, so I answered them all that way. That kinda defeats the purpose of being clever. I was expecting answers in the "Before and After" motif like on Wheel of Fortune. Some made total sense: Dirty Harry Potter, and Jurassic Pork were the kind of answers I expected. I typed The Wrath of Chaka Khan, spelling both correctly I might add, but I don't get credit because I didn't think of the "Star Trek VII" part? Needs some work. Sorry.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 14:22 GMT
One last thing, since all we had to do was name the original movies, this quiz was much too easy.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 17:04 GMT
"You've got to ask yourself one question: Have I drank my Felix Felicis? Well, have ya, punk?"
Mar 31st, 2012 at 17:04 GMT
@hibsfc - Nope. They're both Louisiana.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 17:43 GMT
This is actually the greatest thing ever!
Mar 31st, 2012 at 18:39 GMT
I just need to recognize names of characters from past films. The sequel part of the quiz seems irrelevant?
Mar 31st, 2012 at 18:47 GMT
@hibsfc and demonstah - You're both right. The book is set in Georgia, the film in Louisiana. Since this is a *film* quiz, though, Louisiana should stand.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 18:52 GMT
@mitchconn- Actually, the quiz is executed precisely as it was meant to be. The instructions specifically tell you to name the original movie. If I made you name the sequel then I'd be asking you to read my mind and that would be neither fun nor fair. If I displayed only the original movie, then you wouldn't have the chance to laugh (or more likely groan) at the sequel names. @TampopoRamen- You have the idea. The sequel part is called 'humor'. Of course, one man's humor...
Comment below threshold:

What is it Star Trek VII: The Wrath Of Chaka Khan? Star Trek II was the Wrath Of Khan. VII was Generations. This, along with the Louisiana/Georgia gaffe for Green Mile, shows some pretty poor thinking on the maker's part.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 20:14 GMT
@Soundcow- as has already been pointed out above, Louisiana is correct. The Star Trek movie stopped being numbered when they went to the Next G. cast. Since this would've an ill-advised sequel to the movies with the original cast, I picked the numbering up from there.
Mar 31st, 2012 at 23:42 GMT
It is confusing though, because the answer column heading is "unfortunate sequel", and usually one is guessing the answers. It would be clearer if the answer column was "original movie" and an additional column populated with the name of the sequel. Still, I figured out what you were going for soon enough after accidentally getting a few. And I'm still chuckling over Jurassic Pork, that is a Muppet Show skit if I ever heard one.
