Most of these images come either from the Nikon Small World competition (http://www.nikonsmallworld.com/) or from a series of articles on Photomicrography by the U.K.'s Daily Telegraph. If you'd like to see more of these images you can look there or look directly to the incredible people who create these images. Among the artists here are Igor Siwanowicz, Tom Jackson and Steve Gschmeissner.

Game was fun, kudos to the artists, and the photography is amazing. But, after staring at these scary little critters, I think I'd rather see "less" of them... But I did enjoy the artists' other work on the url you provided.

1. Do not take this quiz right after eating. 2. That caterpillar really looks like a spider and I kept typing in spider wondering why it wasnt working. 3. The damselfy looks like its staring into my soul.

Love these, for me beauty (or at least intrigue) is in the detail. Could you also accept ladybird for us Brits please?

The Bluebottle's eyes look like Large Marge's from Pee Wee's Big Adventure - kind of spooky. Perfect images and great quiz!

I wasn't creeped out by bugs, but I am now.

I was hoping when you first said magnified, that you meant in flames under a magnifying glass.

Mantis was just cast in the all-insect production of Swan Lake.

Why on earth do they mate so much? (Because that's where they're from!).

Not quite as cute, warm, and fuzzy as the baby animal pictures, right? But very good quiz. :)
Jul 26th, 2012 at 16:22 GMT
Hejman, you did the impossible. You creeped me out so much that I need to stop procrastinating and get back to work to get my mind off of this.

Is it me or has that Dragonfly got Salvador Dali's moustache?!

I think the Mantis is just listening to "Walk Like an Egyptian."

@ari18- Sorry about that. I have a lovely quiz full of animal butts for you to look at if that'll make you feel better...

Something bugs me about this quiz.

The damselfly photo seems almost like a trick since you can't see any of its body.
Jul 26th, 2012 at 22:06 GMT
The damselfly is kind of cute. At least, grading on a curve.
Jul 26th, 2012 at 22:34 GMT
Oh ick! The only thing that consoles me is the knowledge that I could squash the lot of them under the heel of my shoe if they tried anything.

never take close-up pictures of insects, it's really nasty. I'm just glad there wasn't a close-up of a silverfish. I hate those things, but couldn't resist looking for a close-up, and they are really nasty. http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/48624000/jpg/_48624009_bugs_03.jpg Nice quiz, maybe you can create a sequel.

I normally think bugs are kind of cool, but this was just a little different...

That doesn't look like any caterpillar I've ever seen.
