| @Scyphus- The plane was named after Chuck Yeager's first wife Glennis Yeagar who, sadly, died of ovarian cancer in 1990. It is alternately referred to as Glamorous Glennis and Glamorous Ginnie and you'll find both names used on various sites on the web. However, in response to your comment I went looking for photos of the plane, and, indeed, it has 'Glamorous Glennis' painted on it, so I'm going to change the displayed clue to Glennis. It appears that the confusion may arise from the fact that the P-51 he flew in WW2 was named Glamorous Ginnie. |
