@PDepew2181- I suspect that Horne was left off the list because for much of her early career she had been blacklisted in Hollywood and so worked predominantly on stage and as a singer (at which, of course, she excelled). Now, having said that, she had already had major roles in Stormy Weather and Cabin in the Sky before the Red Scare and the blacklisting, so there is certainly an argument in favor of her inclusion.
That having been said, this list is certainly not intended to be inclusive or exclusive. It's also a quiz that is supposed to be fun and not horribly difficult (thus the exclusion of some folks who were certainly important but might not today be very well known, such as Juanita Moore, who I removed because so few people were able to identify her). It was not my intention to slight anyone, but ultimately there can only be so many pictures in an image quiz before it becomes hard to see the images. |
