| A "Presidential" series in the 1930's did follow the order of presidencies (with half-cent increments for Franklin, Martha Washington, et al.) up to the split-term presidency. That's the profiled-bust design common to at least one of the 2, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15 and 21 cent denominations above. Although I've known this for years, I only made use of this knowledge for a couple of the last ones I couldn't figure out; to me (like IronFirefly) that full-profile bust isn't always the clearest or most familiar image of a president. (That order was also helpful in my schoolboy philatelic days in learning the obscurer Presidents' names & spellings, and in remembering some of their chronology.) |
