For those who aren't familiar, Top Gear is the world's #1 car-related television program. About to enter it's 19th series (for my fellow Americans- a British 'series' is not the same as an American 'season', but is generally 6-10 episodes), the show airs in the United States on BBC America and has spun off into shows in Australia, Russia, South Korea and, for the last two years, the United States. The first 16 series are available on Netflix. If you haven't seen Top Gear, you're really missing out. I can give the show no better praise than this: my wife is not a car person. As long as it runs well and is comfortable, she's happy. But she loves Top Gear. She will frequently watch it even if I'm not around. And if you can make a car show that my wife likes, well... then you've accomplished something. On each episode, Top Gear has a guest star. After a brief interview about what they're doing, what they drive and what cars they've owned in the past, we see them driving a normal sedan around a test track- Top Gear's famous "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car" segment. The pictures above are all from those segments. |
