Thanks, I'm going to have nightmares about that creepy Lee Jeans doll now!

That 7-up mascot is making me crave M&Ms more than 7-Up...
Jun 12th, 2012 at 07:32 GMT
Dang. I tried Apple Cinnamon Cheerios instead.

Jun 12th, 2012 at 17:28 GMT
@Squinta- Chick-Fil-A has always been accepted without the hyphens.
Jun 12th, 2012 at 17:32 GMT
Squinta is correct, Chick-Fil-A does not work without the hyphens. Also, Big Boy Restaurants are also known as Bob's Big Boy in some areas.
Jun 12th, 2012 at 17:50 GMT
"chick fil a" without hyphens doesn't work. "chickfila" with no spaces does.
Jun 12th, 2012 at 18:00 GMT
Ha, saw the oven mitt and all I could think of was Hamburger Helper! They are somewhat similar...
Jun 12th, 2012 at 19:42 GMT
Sorry guys, the quiz was set to filter default words and so it didn't recognize the lone 'a' in 'Chick fil a'. It should be working now.

I don't always play internet quizzes...but when I do, I prefer Sporcle.

Dang...I failed to remember what Morris the Cat sold. Kept trying Meow Mix :P

If I came across the mascots from Apple Jacks and Lee Jeans in a dark alley, I'd probably start crying and begging like a 6 year old girl.

I think that is Haburger Helper not Arbys.
Jul 21st, 2012 at 04:44 GMT
Hamburger Helper is different. Though I wonder why Frisch's or Frisch's Big Boy wouldn't take. Are there other Big Boy chains?
Jul 21st, 2012 at 04:46 GMT
Where did you find that Kellogg's pin? It looks an awful lot like the one my kindergarten teacher gave me.
Jul 21st, 2012 at 04:56 GMT
Why is a rooster the spokesanimal for Corn Flakes?
Jul 21st, 2012 at 05:24 GMT
@trusting365: googling Kellogg's rooster pin works. @IWANTMY2DOLLARS: Roosters crowing are associated with the morning. See this ad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AhlUVm-wpM

@Kiratroid - I remember Bob's Big Boy and JB's Big Boy when I was younger. I looked it up and there were about two dozen different names. Frisch's started as a franchise, but Big Boy International and Frisch's are now co-registrants of the Big Boy name and trademark.
Jul 21st, 2012 at 05:34 GMT
i thought the rooster was the logo for all of kelloggs not just corn flakes. i couldnt figure out why it wouldnt work. i got 5 right though. not bad for a non american

Only 18.7% remember the 1982 slogan "Time to make the donuts." Now the company is better known for its coffee (the layman's preference to Starbucks, no less).
Jul 21st, 2012 at 06:10 GMT
I did google it, thanks. Some people are selling those things for $20
Jul 21st, 2012 at 10:31 GMT
Wow... I really, really sucked at this... of course, only two of these brands are actually mainstream here in Denmark...
Jul 21st, 2012 at 10:54 GMT
excellent -- fun quiz AND fun 'cause I only missed two. I remembered the "Buddy" character but could not associate with lee jeans, but I never saw the "apple jacks" characters.
Jul 21st, 2012 at 10:55 GMT
also-- the talk about Hamburger helper vs Arby's ... hamburger helper has fingers and is called "helping hand" (I never got "oven mitt" as a mascot for a sandwich chain, but that is a different conversation)
Jul 21st, 2012 at 11:18 GMT
Because you are supposed to wake up with a bowl of corn flakes, thus the rooster.
Jul 21st, 2012 at 12:32 GMT
This is a little nitpicky, but all the letters of GEICO should be capitalized (as it is an acronym for Government Employees Insurance Company).
Jul 21st, 2012 at 12:34 GMT
yup, in our area it was Kip's Big Boy
Jul 21st, 2012 at 13:40 GMT
i love not seeing one until halfway through and going "OH I KNOW THAT ONE!" makes me feel proud
Jul 21st, 2012 at 14:24 GMT
Minor point...the rice product is "Uncle Bens" with an s...I know typing that should've been noted as correct - but apparently I was typing the "s" too soon after the "n" and the game wasn't recognizing the word... http://www.unclebens.com/Product

I thought that the 2nd from the right, bottom row was the Capital One viking. I feel dumb now.
Jul 21st, 2012 at 14:36 GMT
The Arby's one is stupid. For years it was a cowboy hat, and everyone knew it was a cowboy hat. Then for some strange reason they said, "Hey, let's make this an oven mitt."

I'm sad to see Chick-fil-a with its bigotry on this quiz. Otherwise nicely done.
Jul 21st, 2012 at 16:53 GMT
@Rei: Some of us happen to agree with Chick-fil-a's stand and do not think it is bigotry at all. Why don't we just agree to keep politics out of Sporcle and allow everyone to live and let live?
Jul 21st, 2012 at 18:05 GMT
I don't always do online trivia, but when I do I prefer Sporcle.

I just thought I'd take this opportunity to point out to everyone planning on attending a baseball game in their lifetime, that there isn't an "s" at the end of Cracker Jack. Nice job on the quiz. Good difficulty level.
Jul 21st, 2012 at 19:02 GMT
@rei: If you want politics kept out of here, why did you wade into it?

Would you consider taking 'Kelloggs' or 'Kellogg's'? I missed it because I didn't tack on 'corn flakes.'
Jul 21st, 2012 at 20:28 GMT
what does an oven mitt have to do with a hamburger/roast beef chain???? I thought that was otis spunkmeyer lol, only cuz my old job used to sell those, and that looked like the oven mitt we used and i cant get that out of my head, lmaooo... typed that like 5x, thinking i was spelling it wrong, before i gave up... most of these were hard though, only got 6, great job!
