There are several good non-image versions of this, though I'm particularly fond of this one: http://www.sporcle.com/games/Moonvest/tvneighbors

Oops...technical problems...the images are split. I hate when that happens;}
Jun 20th, 2011 at 04:06 GMT
Looks normal now. Looks really good.

In the interests of pointless nitpicking: that photo isn't from The Wonder Years. Danica McKellar is wearing a Motley Crue T-shirt, but the show covered '68-'73, and Motley Crue didn't form until '81. (Research turns up that it's actually from a TV movie called "Camp Cucamonga". And knowledge is power!)

Does Fonzie really count as a neighbor? He lived in the same house as the Cunninghams.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 12:19 GMT
@Tahnan- Thanks. I'll need to change that. @singin185- Unless I'm very badly mistaken, Fonzie lived in an apartment over the garage. I'd say that's being a neighbor.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 17:57 GMT
The Fonz definitely counts in my book, but is a tenant "technically" a neighbor? And I don't recall Eddie Haskell necessarily living near the Cleavers. (Maybe a "loosely" disclaimer?)
Jun 20th, 2011 at 18:07 GMT
@tardis- Your tenant is your neighbor if the tenancy is near to you. The person who lives in the home next to me is my neighbor. Your suggestion is that if I owned that home, the person would cease to be my neighbor. That doesn't ring true. As for Eddie H., he appears on just about every list of TV neighbors that you'll find on the web. I don't recall specifically where he lived, but it was close enough that he was able to be at the Cleaver's house ALL the time.

Never thought I'd see Babette make an appearance in any quiz! Bravo!
Jun 20th, 2011 at 18:42 GMT
Thanks, kicking222 for the Editor's Pick. I have sent a corrected image file to the admins to fix the Danica McKellar image. They're understandably very busy and I'm sure it'll get corrected soon enough. @survivorfan- Thanks! Also- who did I forget? Right off I can think of Boner from Growing Pains, Mr. Wilson from Dennis the Menace, Monroe from Too Close for Comfort and Penny from Big Bang Theory. If we can come up about 15 more, I'll do a sequel.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 18:52 GMT
Sequel ideas. Rhoda before she had her own show and Rose when Charlie Sheen still had a show.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 19:08 GMT
@googlebird (Pssst... don't tell anybody but Rhoda is already in this quiz at #11!) Rose is a great suggestion though and the name Rose makes me think of Richard Mulligan's character on Golden Girls, which eventually led to a spinoff of its own. Also, I didn't include anyone from Friends in this quiz because they were all neighbors of one another. In a sequel, I might include Joey and Chandler.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 19:30 GMT
Well hi-ho young Taylor!
Jun 20th, 2011 at 19:32 GMT
and patrick star is a sequel idea
Jun 20th, 2011 at 19:43 GMT
Sequel idea: Brian on My So-Called Life
Jun 20th, 2011 at 20:52 GMT
You could add the stupid bear from The Cleveland Show, and I think Courtney Cox has a significant neighbour from Cougar Town. Shameful suggestions yes, but still suggestions.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 21:34 GMT
Minor ironic trivia dept: The guy who played the neighbor on the Dick Van Dyke show went on to produce & direct two other shows on the quiz: Jerry Paris who played Jerry Helper created Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley. (He also produced Mork & Mindy, where Tom Poston played an annoyed neighbor, IIRC.)
Ooh! How about the king on neighbor-playing? Bill Daily as Major Healey on I Dream of Jeannie and as pilot Howard Borden in The Bob Newhart Show. (Also: Could Larry, Daryl & Daryl count?)
Jun 20th, 2011 at 22:09 GMT
First off, thanks Sporcle admins for loading the updated image file- much appreciated! Second, @crazylegs and @rockgolf- great suggestions! (And I love the Jerry Paris trivia.) Sprout had actually suggested Tom Poston to me for Newhart, but L,D&D works too and I love the idea of using Bill Daily twice on the same quiz (and doubling up Newhart shows at the same time).
Jun 20th, 2011 at 23:40 GMT
Nicely done, I liked it a lot. You could possibly use Oskar Kokoschka from Hey Arnold for a sequel.
Jun 21st, 2011 at 03:11 GMT
one more piece of trivia on the dick van dyke show....millie helper was played by anna guilbert who went on to play "yetta", the grandmother on the nanny.
Jun 21st, 2011 at 03:51 GMT
Skippy from Family Ties. Rudi's friend Buuuud (what was his real name?) from The Cosby Show.
Jun 21st, 2011 at 04:14 GMT
My name's not Buuuuuuuuuuuud, it's Kenny!
Jun 21st, 2011 at 15:34 GMT
mr feeny!!! :D can't believe only 45% knew his show.
Jun 21st, 2011 at 15:54 GMT
Word on the street is that Danica McKellar is a fan of Sporcle. She obviously has good taste.
Jun 21st, 2011 at 15:58 GMT
If you want to take the definition of neighbor loosely, you could use Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration, from the office.
Jun 21st, 2011 at 18:05 GMT
To be fair, that is a weird picture of Mr. Feeny.
Jun 21st, 2011 at 18:57 GMT
you could use mr dink from Doug in a sequel
Jun 21st, 2011 at 20:22 GMT
I can't believe I missed Mr. Feeny!
Jun 21st, 2011 at 22:30 GMT
Another could be Bob Vance, Vance refridgeration.
Jun 21st, 2011 at 22:44 GMT
Clara Edwards (a/k/a Bertha Edwards and Clara Johnson) from The Andy Griffith Show would work.
Jun 22nd, 2011 at 02:18 GMT
You could add Arrested Development. Somehow. I think. You can always add Arrested Development.
Jun 22nd, 2011 at 02:46 GMT
Wow, I Love Lucy premiered in the early Fifties and it still got 85%. THAT is staying power! Also, I love that pic of Gladys Kravitz from Bewitched.

The "All in the Family" picture is a picture of "The Jeffersons"
Jun 23rd, 2011 at 20:12 GMT
The All in the Family picture is a picture of George and Wheezy Jefferson because they were the Bunker's neighbors. They were such good charachters that they got their own spin-off series.
Jun 23rd, 2011 at 22:37 GMT
Lucille Austero would work for Arrested Development.
Jun 26th, 2011 at 07:02 GMT
*glaring eyes* ... Hello Newman
Jun 27th, 2011 at 11:53 GMT
Would Nurse Gladys Emmanuel work for a sequel? If memory serves, Arkwright and Granville lived above the store, she lived across the street. (Open All Hours, in case someone doesn't know what I'm talking about.)
Jun 29th, 2011 at 18:19 GMT
How do you make an image quiz where you type the answer below the picture?
Jun 29th, 2011 at 19:11 GMT
Oh, TV neighbors; you're either my favorite characters or the worst part of the show.
