| The cyclical nature of the game, as well as how long a team has been around, have a huge impact on this list. Colts had the most wins over the past decade, but that's largely thanks to their last #1 pick. And yet they lead, partially because of a long funk in the 80's/90's (Plus they traded UP to get Jeff George! artifically inflating their total. of course one years they had the first TWO picks, neither of which panned out, which should probably count as a bonus half point or something.) and the fact that they've been around forever compared to the Bucs, Texans, Seahawks, Saints (a team that was dreadful for years and years), etc. same for the Steelers--a traditional powerhouse but they've been aorund a long time. Surprised the Lions are so low, but that too is generally a recent thing and they had a long proud tradition before (cough) Matt Millen. |
