For some reason, this one was much easier for me than the previous playbills quiz. I only had a moment's hesitation on Godspell, thought it was Hair at first.

They're printed by the same company: http://www.playbill.com/news/article/112014-ASK-PLAYBILLCOM-Playbill-and-Showbill

I never knew that about the Playbill and the Showbill. I knew they were basically the same thing and one was only used at the New Amsterdam, but I didn't know why. Thanks for that, and good quiz!

Just awesome, Hejman, as always. I never knew that Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was made into a musical! That is one of my favorite movies.

Thanks, LTH. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a great musical too. The original Broadway version starred John Lithgow and Norbert Leo Butz (one of my favorite names) who beat Lithgow out for the Tony Award that year.

And Joanna Gleason and Gregory Jbarra. Definitely a soundtrack worth having.

Never even knew Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was originally a stage show! But somehow one look at that playbill and it was the first thing that popped into my head. Now I want to see it sone on stage!

@Golden I am pretty sure the musical was based off of the movie.

@Golden: Actually the musical is based on the movie like many musicals these days. Funny how that's been working.

@Sporcle Admin: "Sometimes, playbill's are more interesting then the actual musical." 1) What is that apostrophe doing there? 2) You mean thAn. For shame, Sporcle.

For some reason I thought the answer to the guy with the white, white face would be 'Jolson' and I'm not sure if that's irony!?

This was decently challenging. The only complaint I have is not against the quiz, but against myself: I don't know how I failed to get #8 when I had tried that show for at least three other covers shown.

As someone whose two years of high school French taught me "je ne parle pas Francais" and nothing more, perhaps you could accept "La Cage AU Folles". What's a singular vs. plural determiner among Sporcle friends, anyway?

that's definitely the off-Broadway Playbill for In the Heights. The (original) Broadway one looks like this: http://www.playbill.com/images/photo/3/4/34EF02FB3C754D3E910D5B23AAA65BC3.jpg . I do believe they briefly changed it towards the beginning of Corbin Bleu's run (to this: http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs246.ash1/17343_1365579259724_1238926062_31051411_5285666_n.jpg), and they changed it again later in his run (to this: http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs065.snc3/13325_10150125459825447_666360446_11377832_6565024_n.jpg). I don't know what it currently is, though.

I'll admit, I tried "H2S" for the How to Succeed... revival, never thinking you'd accept it, since H2$ was on the playbill itself. Thank you for saving me all that typing. :)

@wisdomsomehow- The In the Heights Playbill image is taken from the Playbill website itself. However, you are correct that the theater listed on the cover (37 Arts) is an off-Broadway facility.

Good, thanks! Just some small suggestions: 1) I am ignorant enough to have not heard of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, so I typed in H2S, which is written on the playbill, and it was accepted even though it's written on the cover and it's not the full name. Like ScottLA said, it did save us from the typing. And 2) be more consistent; "soundofmusic" was accepted and not"kingandi". Not big deals, just nitpicking.

Also, next time maybe try a more inviting photo on the front page than the Cabaret playbill. It may just be me, but I get very creeped out by it! :)

@snoopy29- The acceptance of things without spaces and the manner in which the quiz treats the words "and" and "the" are built into the programming of the site. I have no power to change that.

I'm sad that The Secret Garden isn't better-known; the music is truly lovely. Also, Joel Grey is terrifying.

20/20. I found this far easier than the first. I was actually surprised to see how low some of the percentages were for some of the shows.

quent, are you serious? Not only is it the best musical not named Fiddler on the Roof, but it did win the Tony for Best Musical the year it was eligible.

Sorry, but I have to fail this quiz for not accepting "Spamalot". I went to that and got immediately frustrated and gave up when it would not take it.
Hejman

@ktappe: The quiz accepts Spamalot, has always accepted Spamalot and continues to accept Spamalot. My guess is that you either spelled it wrong or had the wrong image selected, in which case it wouldn't accept it since the quiz is set to accept them in order only so the images will appear at the top. Perhaps you should give it another go (and then, kindly, rate the quiz fairly).
