American Gladiators premiered in 1989, with the UK's version following in 1992. Both had revivals in 2008; however, the updated US version followed very closely in rules and format to the UK's original version. (I'll simply state that referee Al Kaplon is no John Anderson.)

Some of these shows are made by their presenters, an American Top Gear just seems wrong.

Would like to have seen Masterchef on here :). Great quiz idea, but unfortunately I haven't seen many of the US versions of UK shows.

@catkin- The original UK version of Top Gear is one of the few programs that I regularly watch anymore. The US version is slowly growing on me, but it just can't compare to the original. There are also versions in Australia, Russia, China, Turkey and Korea.

You could replace Gladiators with Hell's Kitchen.

And am I the only one who thinks "Strictly Come Dancing" sounds like the title of a bondage musical?

I think clues would help this quiz... since there are dozens of other possibilities.

@Dummo- Huh? Each of these shows is an American version of one (and only one) British television show. The only possible answers are the names of the American show and the names of the British shows they're based off of.

@Hejman: Sorry when I played this quiz for some reason the pictures didn't show up. This time they did.

The original UK version of AITF was called Till Death Us Do Part, though people do commonly swap the two smaller words.

The British version of Trading Spaces was actually called Changing Rooms. Fun quiz!

Why is it America needs to remake so much yet we're happy to accept their shows as they are?

There was also the British show Home to Roost, remade as You Again. Had the same actress playing the same character in both.

Nice quiz - it would have been easier if you'd shown screenshots of the British shows though.

spurtle - to be fair, the British creators are the ones remaking the shows for American audiences on many of these, for example Simon Cowell remade both of his shows and the BBC produces US Top Gear
