@H0limkill- Actually, Tolkien uses the word goblin in the Hobbit and the word Orc in LOTR, in the latter identifying goblins as a breed of orcs. http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Orc I've added goblin as an accepted answer. Glad you liked it!

That close up or a warg looks so much like a rancor that I almost put it as the answer.

Another good quiz. Would you consider accepting Light of EƤrendil for the fourth one? Can't believe I didn't get the last one, I've just finished the book (again) and that picture's in the back.

I think the Witch King should be acceptable for #13 since the picture is of him. Mumukil should be another answer for oliphant as well.

@bizzlebiz13- The correct spelling is 'mumakil' and it's already accepted. Similarly, "Witch King of Angmar" is also already an accepted answer.

Mumakil probably ought not to be accepted, but Mumak, yes, because it's just one (It annoys me on the Extended Version DVD set how Peter Jackson, Richard Taylor et al consistently refer to a singular Oliphaunt as "a Mumakil").

@Hejman My bad about the spelling error. My first thought should have been to check the spelling instead of it not being accepted. I still don't get why "of Angmar" is needed though.

I just went to add it and it was already there. Not sure if it had been there all along or if the admins just added it. Thanks for the suggestion and thank you to HQ for adding it.

@skythrock: That's probably because it's "Elendil," not "Earendil." I can vouch that Light of Elendil worked for me. Source: http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Star_of_Elendil

To clarify, it is most definitely the Light of Earendil. Elendil was a king of Numenor, why would his star be their most beloved? The Star of Elendil was a jewel worn by the kings of Numenor, and then recovered by Aragorn after retaking Orthanc. http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Phial_of_Galadriel is the Light of Earendil. Admins, please chance the acceptance from Elendil to Earendil.

Yep, that was it. I was an idiot and had it set to Elendil, not Earendil. The good folks at Sporcle HQ have already corrected it, though. I'm not sure whether that mistake means I need to get my hearing checked or my eyesight. Or both...

Didn't know the Warg - I've got a feeling they're also called Wolves of Isengard, or Werewolves of Isengard, at least in the book (unless I'm thinking of something different). Can anyone confirm/refute?

@Richard Wortham: in the films they are certainly also called Wolves of Isengard (Theoden says "The wolves of Isengard shall return" after they are attacked on the way to Helm's Deep), but I can't remember if they are referred to as such in the books. As for Werewolves: they exist in Tolkien's universe, but are of a different species to Wargs.

"Light of Earendil" still doesn't work for Phial of Galadriel. Also, "Star-glass" should be accepted for it, according to http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Phial_of_Galadriel.

Why is the picture of Orthanc not from the movies, but everything else is?
