I very much enjoy that Nixon looks like a little girl, with a sweet bowl cut. I, however, don;t like who horrible I did.

I find it amazing how incredibly obvious some of them were, yet for others I STILL didn't see the resemblance after I gave up and saw the answers.

Very interesting quiz, I particularly like how some (JFK) look very similar to their adult pictures.

Grant looks like Billy the Kid, and Wilson like H.P. Lovecraft.

Interesting that Cleveland is in uniform since he hired George Benninsky to take his place following the Conscription Act of 1863.

I put these photos together on Saturday and then contributed the game last night. I woke up this morning with a nagging feeling that something was wrong about that Grant photo even though the source claims it is him and it does kind of resemble him. At work this morning I remembered the 1838 Louis Daguerre photo of Paris and that the man standing still in that photo (getting his shoes shined) was the first person ever to be photographed. Ulysses Grant would have been 16 that year. It simply isn't possible that the picture of the young man in that could be Grant. I've just now send the admins a new image file with Grant swapped out for another president. The Cleveland image is possible (He was born in 1837 so that photo could have been taken in the early 1850s) but I can only find it at one source. I'm working to attempt to verify it beyond that one location.

Great quiz. However, I'm puzzled why my guess of Taft was accepted for Grant...

Did some more web searching to attempt to verify the Cleveland photo. Where else is it found on the web? (You'll never guess... go ahead...) On the now defunct website of Senator Larry Craig. I kid you not. Why a senator from Idaho would have a childhood photo of a president from New York on his website, I can't explain.

Absolutely fascinating and terrific quiz. Its so easy to demonize presidents we disagree with (I'm too often guilty of this) and its very interesting to focus on them as children. Although the stupid grin on child W. Bush's face still really really annoys me.

@Dresser_John- Thanks for that info. I was so doubtful of it (despite the assertion's of Senator Craig's website) that I actually emailed the Grover Cleveland museum yesterday. For the time being I'll swap in McKinley's 18 year-old enlistment photo. (I've also contacted the McKinley presidential library to ask if they are aware of any earlier photos of him.) The change will take several hours though- only the admins can change this format and it's 5 AM in Seattle right now.

Ok, change is made and we're now at 100% verified images (even though the new one is that president at age 18). Thanks for the feedback, everybody. Glad to hear that you're enjoying the quiz.

Taft looked pretty good when he was young. I never would have guessed that he'd go on to need an extra-large bathtub installed in the White House.
