Awesome quiz! But no "M*A*S*H" ?
May 4th, 2012 at 04:48 GMT
Giant "DUH" on my part there. Mork and Mindy is out (it can go in the 80s version) and MASH is in.
May 4th, 2012 at 04:49 GMT
I'm coming Elizabeth, This is the big one! - Love that show.
May 4th, 2012 at 04:50 GMT
@Hejman AWESOME quiz because of course it was my childhood. However, even though Lou Grant spun off of MTM, like Rhoda and Phyllis, it was a drama not a sitcom.
May 4th, 2012 at 04:52 GMT
You know, sprout, I thought that when I saw it on the list of 70s sitcoms and stupidly believed the list. I'll put M&M back in and give Lou the boot.
May 4th, 2012 at 07:49 GMT
I feel like a better name for this would be 'Those 70s Shows'.
May 4th, 2012 at 13:13 GMT
Got them all pretty easily. Dang, I'm old. Who is the chick on the far right of the Three's Company cast photo BTW?
May 4th, 2012 at 15:03 GMT
I think that was some woman who had the hots for Jack, IIRC. Maybe a neighbor. I was also wondering who the ugly chick was in the middle of row 3, col 1, until I realized which family this was.

Abe Vigoda has been old since he was born.

I watched the first two seasons of Soap recently, and it's still hysterical. Billy Crystal's jokes about being gay still hold up!
May 6th, 2012 at 02:38 GMT
As everyone knows, the pilot for "That 40's Show" was poor enough to prevent the big three networks from putting it into production in 1973. But we got "M*A*S*H", "All In the Family", and "The Brady Bunch", so the decade was a huge success!

How do you get the pictures on a game?
May 6th, 2012 at 04:10 GMT
@CastleMania- There's a FAQ on image quizzes here: http://www.sporcle.com/faq.php. If that doesn't answer all your question, email me (the address is in my Sporcle profile).

a little too easy... maybe some not as popular shows OR i was watching way too much tv in the 70s
May 12th, 2012 at 01:00 GMT
Got all of them except Rhoda. The picture is just too small to see the people well enough.
May 12th, 2012 at 11:03 GMT
And Dwayne Schneider STILL manages to look creepy.
May 24th, 2012 at 20:18 GMT
Great quiz, but a little too easy. True, these were all '70s sitcoms but they are all television classics that were repeated throughout the '80s, '90s, '00s and today. MASH reruns are still airing as are All in the Family and Brady Bunch. Make another quiz with some lesser known sitcoms, like Taxi, Bridget Loves Bernie, Phyllis and The New Dick Van Dyke Show. Then you'd have something!

I watched wayyyyy too much tv in the 70s!
Aug 4th, 2012 at 04:31 GMT
The Suzanne Pleshette / Bill Daily show accepted the lead actor's last name only. The 1982 show was known by his last name only. The 70's show was known by both his first and last name.

Aug 4th, 2012 at 06:07 GMT
Wow, I used to watch all of these! And they were all really funny shows. There is such junk on nowadays.
Aug 4th, 2012 at 10:17 GMT
Isn't Mork and Mindy from the 80s?
Aug 4th, 2012 at 12:42 GMT
@ivyagogo Mork and Mindy ran from '78 to '82, so it belongs in both decades.
Aug 4th, 2012 at 12:54 GMT
Several of these shows lasted into the 1980s. The Brady Bunch began in the 1960s.
Aug 4th, 2012 at 14:01 GMT
Barney Miller ruled. One of the funniest TV shows ever created.

Every quiz featuring WKRP receives the obligatory (and accurate) "Bailey was WAAAAAAAY hotter than Jennifer" comment. Born in '74 and I love you, Jan Smithers.

Thankful to tv land and nick at night for keeping shows like these alive, because otherwise I would have gotten none of these. I wasn't even born when these shows started, but am able to enjoy them anyways.

Hey HEY Hey!

No Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman? Great Quiz.
Aug 4th, 2012 at 20:41 GMT
I recognised quite a few of the actors but I'm guessing alot of these didn't come across the pond. I loved Mork & Mindy and Mash though :-)
Aug 4th, 2012 at 22:37 GMT
Great quiz for those of us of a certain age. I haven't owned a TV in years... but these childhood shows stuck with me.
Aug 5th, 2012 at 02:23 GMT
brady bunch's first 13 episodes aired in 1969 but the majority episodes 14-117 aired in the 70's so it should be considered a 70's show
Aug 5th, 2012 at 04:19 GMT
This is from an era when tv comedies really were funny, had multiple layers so they were funny for kids and funny for adults. They didn't rely on bathroom humor or sex. Some of it is sappy, some of it is offensive to some (there weren't sponsors screaming about political correctness) but over all, there was something for everyone. Sitcoms now can't hold a candle to these shows.
Aug 5th, 2012 at 14:54 GMT
Got em all. This quiz was right in my wheelhouse.
Aug 5th, 2012 at 17:47 GMT
@Koltrane: Agreed! Remember when Dietrich was throwing a costume party where you were supposed to come as your favorite 16th century philospher?
Aug 6th, 2012 at 02:20 GMT
In most of these pictures, at least one person is dead, I think One Day at a Time, Laverne and Shirley and Mork and Mindy are the only ones where everyone pictured is still around.
Aug 6th, 2012 at 02:30 GMT
Partridge Family is all still with us, too.
