| @melanie_was_here- In common parlance the terms "possum" and "opossum" get used interchangeably and so I have the quiz set to accept them both, but they are actually distinct and different animals. The possums are a group of marsupials native to Oceania. The opossums are marsupials native to the New World and from a distinct taxonomical order. Being a lawyer and not a biologist, I don't know enough about them to tell you if they share a common ancestor. @DanUK- Every time I look at that wolf I get a mental image of Jack Elam as the crazy doctor in Cannonball Run. @uphillrunner- I asked Westley, he says R.O.U.S.'s don't exist. Buttercup begs to differ. @blueshoc12- I am totally asking for a tree manatee for Christmas. |
