@carbon_rod- That's correct, but she was not the daughter of a monarch. She was the daughter of Prince Edward and became Queen when both the King and Edward died in 1820.

I have to say I got bored of this pretty quickly. How about we get rid of the Queen and her entire ridiculous family.

Two apologies. First, that I didn't correct this sooner. I was in the Zaleski Forest and blissfully away from internet access. Second, that I appear to have forgotten King George III all together (Prince Octavius was also missing). Perhaps, as an American, I suffered from some innate, lingering revolutionary spirit. :-) Regardless, his children have now been added.

Thanks for correcting. Notice, though, that Adolphus is now listed twice.

Wow - I put down both Adolph and Adele, but no dice. They sure have weighted their naming to the beginning of the alphabet, haven't they?

Sorry! I put him under Augustus (which was his middle name). There's no good Earthly reason why, but I did anyway. Fixed now!

There have been more than 2 Alberts. Edward VII's and George VI's first names were Albert, and Edward VII also had a son named Albert.

@RS89- It appears I counted Edward VII as an Edward not an Albert. Doesn't change the quiz answers, but does change the numbers.

@needapausebutton- William the Conqueror's first daughter was named Adeliza. Very little is known about her (including just when she was born and died, though it is known that she did not survive into adulthood). Some sources list her name modernized as "Alice" so I have allowed 'Alice' to trigger them both.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't 'Prince Octavius' a cushion so named by George III during one of his spells of madness, porphyria, etc.? Also interesting to note that the current Prince Andrew is apparently the very first royal Andrew (for England; I'm pretty sure there have been some more in Scotland when it was independent).

Princess Euphemia - from Henry I's Wikipedia entry: "it is unclear if she ever existed". Not criticising including her, but hard to imagine that could happen nowadays!

Harry is a nickname for Henry, which is included. Oh and there were a bunch of famous medieval Baldwins, so its not that weird that it was a name of a royal child.

Also, bedfordfalls, if you're thinking of the current Prince Harry, he isn't the child of a King or Queen until Charles becomes King.

@WeaselKing1000- There was, indeed, a Prince Octavius, who sadly died at the age of 4 in 1783 as a result of smallpox. You are absolutely correct, however, that in George's bouts of madness he is reported to have had visions of Octavius including one involving a pillow cushion in 1788 (See: George III: A Personal History, by C. Hibbert for more info)

Excellent point Hejman, but I would think you still wouldn't include it as Harry, since his given names are Henry Charles Albert David.

Nitpicking, but Matilda is in the wrong place alphabetically. Also, you might want to thinkg about giving people both Catherine and Katherine when they guess one or the other (since spelling was not always consistent in earlier centuries).

@Cecispanda- You're absolutely right. @JayZed- Matilda has been put in her rightful place and C/Katherine is now a two-fer. Great suggestion, thanks!

And WHERE is David? Edward VIII was baptised "David" and was always called this by his family. Don't think his abdication should be taken to mean he was not a royal baby ...

@angevin-Philippa has been added. I had accidentally counted her as a Phillip. @jlewis23- While you are correct that the family called Edward 'David', David was NOT his given name. He was baptized Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David. He remains an Edward regardless of what they chose to call him (so long as they didn't call him late for supper...)
