| Actually, 'hymn' comes from the Greek 'hymnos' which just means, 'song of praise.' Hymns include, songs, psalms, carols, etc. Nearly every one of these "Including 'The First Noel' ('Nowell' is actually an 18th C. English misspelling of the original French word, which is frequently now corrected in modern versions) are included in the Methodist Hymnal and several versions of Catholic hymnals. |
