This may be the easiest or the hardest of the quizzes in this series- I'm really not sure. On the one hand, all of the films in it have won the Academy Award for Best Picture, so it's a limited list. On the other hand, many of the most obvious and well known Oscar winners were already used in the first three quizzes in this series and I didn't want to reuse any films here. The images are as large as they can be in this format, remember that you can zoom your browser. Also, several of the images (#3, 7, 14, 16 & 20) were very dark and I have brightened them to make them more visible.

The Departed has become of one my favorites movies and I've missed it. It was after I saw the picture again that I hit myself. Damn It !

Fun quiz, but ought to be answer-individually.

the departed: quite literally a parting shot

Quite literally a Departing shot

The last shot of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is of the Chief running into the mountains; the one here is literally right before that.

The images are as large as they can be in this format, but remember that you can zoom your browser. The Christopher Lloyd image is not the absolutely last thing you see before the credits, but is from the final scene of that movie (I didn't use the very last still because it was too dark and would have been nearly impossible to solve).

I dreamt I was going to do well on this quiz. And then I woke up...

Can you accept Driving Ms Daisy?

@nhynes89- That's right, but as I noted above about another Oscar winner on this list, you're talking about the difference between a scene and a shot. The image here is from the final scene, it's the shot immediately before the rat on the balcony. The final scene in The Departed lasts about a minute and a half. @Geo1- That's seems reasonable. Consider it added.

I love these "Parting Shot" quizzes. Another job well done, Hejman!

Thanks, kenjab- that's much appreciated. My only concern about them is that the images are smaller than I would like them to be. Fortunately, the good folks at Sporcle recently pointed me to Flickr slide shows as another option (I've already created one quiz- 'Credit Where Credit is Due'- as a test of it) and so there may be a good solution to that problem. Regardless- glad you liked it!

Another excellent quiz, Hejman...I'll look forward to the larger frame technique.

@notbadfor, when r u going to realize ur not funny?

Darn, I put One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but it didn't work. Maybe there was a typo.

I wonder if I was the only one who thought Shakespeare in Love was Bio-Dome.
Jan 14th, 2011 at 02:07 GMT
I thought Driving Miss Daisy was that Eddie Murphy movie "Barbershop" (or any of those movies where he plays all the characters)...til I remembered they were Oscar winning movies.

Pretty good but some of the people are too small to make out.

OMG I missed Braveheart and I'm IN the bloody thing!

@LB1973: I'm not sure whether you're secret-Sporcler Mel Gibson or an extra extraordinaire, but that comment still made me laugh.
Jan 16th, 2011 at 18:26 GMT
Umm... good quiz, but that's not the parting shot of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. The movie's final shot shows Chief running off into the woods.

@UndeadChimp- Please see my very first comment up above, addressing that exact issue.
Jan 16th, 2011 at 22:51 GMT
@Hejman- Oh. Well, I didn't see that comment at first, so thanks for pointing it out.
