I think I've used only flags that have identifying design characteristics. If you think any of these have more than one possible answer, please let me know. I have 36 more images for a second quiz, which I'll probably release some time in the next week.

Chile was tricky--my brain could not move past Togo. Great idea, looking forward to the sequel. 5 Globes.

Great quiz! However, if you have another set of flags, I would put Bahrain and Qatar into separate quizzes, it would make it a bit more challenging. (I admit, i tried Qatar for Bahrain and was quite surprised to see it appear two rows beneath the flag I was looking at. :D)

This is a great quiz. It splits colour and emblem/shape from flag recognition. This idea could be taken into a proper study to find what is the most effective way to make a flag recognisable. For a study you'd have to pick colours that didn't make them look like other countries ie. belgium and peru. As for the game itself I really enjoyed when i got tricked into typing the wrong country.5G

@nadivereb- Yikes! I definitely need to swap one of those out. I'm at work at the moment, but will do it when I get home. @cuendillar & marpocky- I was a little more evil on the changes on some of these than others. It wasn't chance that made Macedonia look like Japan, Mexico like Belgium, India like Paraguay (or the Netherlands)and Croatia like Estonia. I tried to get a good range of difficulties.

Fantastic idea. And I love that a lot of your colors schemes here are actually significant improvements over the real flags...

I appreciate your belief that I have a "flag recognition process", as if it was *totally the colors* that kept me from recognizing the flags of Zambia and Eritrea.

Venezuela really threw me, because it didn't look wrong. It's easier to ignore the colors when they're completely weird.

Bahrain could also be Qatar, couldn't it? Very interesting quiz, but I must admit that these flags look better with their original colours... just joking, India-Paraguay, Venezuela-Libya and Mexico-Belgium were great!

osaunaitor: Qatar has 9 points (something to do w/emirates, but I forget what) vs. Bahrain's 5 (five pillars of Islam).

@Tahan: I agree. I would have enjoyed this more if there were more flags that I could be able to recognize with the RIGHT colors.

Bahrain can also be Qatar. Bahrain is red and white, Qatar is purple and white.

I typed "FYROM" (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) and Macedonia didn't come up. Maybe changed that?

@singcobb For one thing it's a purplish shade of maroon, not really purple; for another, Qatar's flag is differently proportioned to that of Bahrain (it's longer and thinner). Pretty sure the number of indentations in the 'serrated' border is greater for Qatar as well.
