As far as I can tell, the pictures all match the launch dates of the products with the exception of the iTunes pic, which was actually taken in 2009 or 2010. (iTunes was launched at the same time as the iPhone so most of the pictures from that press conference show Jobs with the phone. I had to a find a picture that made iTunes solvable.) I'm certain that there are many alternate spellings, sub-designations, etc. that would make acceptable alternate answers- suggest away.

I don't think that the Power Mac picture actually shows the first Power Mac, as I believe the first Power Mac was the G3, which was beige, and then was light blue. In any case, I would suggest that for that answer, you accept variants that include G4, like Power PC G4, or G4, or Macintosh G4, since the picture definitely shows a G4. Overall, a very impressive effort.

Thanks, floydpink. Alternates added.

@Hejman, iTunes was first introduced long before the iPhone (iTunes actually predates the original iPod, and the iTunes Music Store was also announced fairly early in the game), though I don't know if you can find pictures for that.
Oct 10th, 2011 at 23:23 GMT
@guide Sorry, I meant ipod not iphone. They were both introduced in 2001.
Oct 11th, 2011 at 13:21 GMT
(The ipod and itunes were both introduced in 2001, that is!)
Oct 12th, 2011 at 00:03 GMT
RIP Steve Jobs (1955-2011)
Oct 12th, 2011 at 03:57 GMT
@Hejman: in that case perhaps an image from the iTunes Music Store launch would be fitting—the was truly a revolution for digital music. Great quiz, btw.

iTunes pic is changed. Pictures should now all be concurrent with the dates of product releases.

I heard the economy's so bad right now, even Apple's losing Jobs.
Oct 28th, 2011 at 05:28 GMT
iKnow it's an OS, but iStill was hoping that Newton would make an appearance on this quiz.

Searching around the Internet to find these photos was fun, but when I got them all together, chronologically, on the same page it was really quite startling to have such a stark visual depiction of his health declining. Seems appropriate, though, that I'm typing this comment on my iPhone.

The many jobs of Steve Jobs.

Not to try to sound like a jerk or anything, but 3 of the pictures at least don't technically match the dates because that is definitely the 4th generation nano(08), what looks to be the Macbook Air (08) and the second generation Apple TV from last year. It might help the chronology better to find a picture from the first gen keynotes/events if possible. I remember with the first nano, he took it out from that useless jeans "watch" pocket, but I'm not sure a picture of that would show up well.

Take a look at the URL :)

This quiz is a great testament to Steve Jobs' legacy of huge technological innovation and showmanship.
Oct 28th, 2011 at 11:54 GMT
The bottom left pic looks more like the Macbook Air
Oct 28th, 2011 at 12:54 GMT
Great stuff-yet somehow I've managed to survive without any Apple products.
Oct 28th, 2011 at 13:07 GMT
@chrispaz- Both 'macbook' and 'air' are accepted answers for that image.
Oct 28th, 2011 at 14:14 GMT
Great quiz, but @VT_Brian is right. The pictured Apple TV is the model released in 2010. You can see pictures from the launch of the original 2006 Apple TV here: http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/09/live-from-macworld-2007-steve-jobs-keynote/ The 2006 MacBook had a white plastic casing; pictured is a MacBook Air, which was released in 2008. The pictures, captions and dates are still honest if they all match each other but aren't in order of original product release date. For instance, that's not a picture of Steve Jobs selling a MacBook in 2006. It's a picture of Steve Jobs selling a MacBook Air in 2008. If you want to accept "MacBook" as an answer, that's your choice. Yes, I'm an Apple nerd. No, I'm not ashamed. Again, great quiz!

it's so amazing to look at the photos and realise that half of them have been created in the last decade alone, technology is getting so crazy cool
Oct 28th, 2011 at 15:00 GMT
@DrewScheeler, my guess is the shame of the epic fail that was Newton (the device) caused Apple to destroy any photographic evidence of Jobs holding it.
Oct 28th, 2011 at 16:43 GMT
Actually, I did find a picture of Jobs holding a Newton, but he was mocking it, not selling it.
Oct 28th, 2011 at 17:39 GMT
Considering that cutting edge technology is a hit or miss proposition, it's amazing that except for the Lisa and the Mac Mini, these are all successful products.
Oct 28th, 2011 at 19:53 GMT
The Power Mac G4 pictured was released in 1999, not 1994 - Jobs didn't return to Apple until late 1996.
Oct 28th, 2011 at 19:56 GMT
RIP steve jobs! We will miss you!
Oct 28th, 2011 at 20:11 GMT
@drqshadow- Yes, but the Power Mac G4 line was released in 1994 and what is displayed is the release date for the line of products.
Oct 28th, 2011 at 23:06 GMT
I'm a bit surprised only 40% got Apple TV considering the device he's holding has the Apple logo on it followed by the word "TV".
Oct 28th, 2011 at 23:41 GMT
I kept looking for the Fisher Price logo on all those.
Oct 29th, 2011 at 01:06 GMT
I wonder how many sets of jeans and black turtlenecks he had.
Nov 6th, 2011 at 18:04 GMT
Was he rich?

I'm disappointed the humancentiPad is not on this quiz.
