I picked a single day and just entered "Bobblehead" as the search term on Ebay. There were 476 pages. I figured I'd go through 50 or so and then just couldn't stop, there was so much humor in it. I learned a few things: some bobbleheads are truly awful; they'll make a bobblehead of anyone, at any level, anywhere; and the San Francisco Giants have a 'Rally Rabbi'. And you can purchase a bobblehead of him.

Also, there were so many good bobbles that if this one goes over well I will eventually do more quizzes- an entertainment one (actors, singers and the like), a history one (presidents and their ilk) and a fictional characters one. Oh, and yes, that is indeed a bowler in the bottom row.

It would be the best source ever if it actually worked.

very nice, good mix of older guys and new, main stream sports and odd ball sports. thank god for the uniforms in many of them or i would have been in big trouble.

Sorry about the source line d3bates, I've fixed it now. I forgot that I needed to type the "http:/" in front of the address. Thanks alleycat9. I tried to mix them up. On the more difficult ones, I tried to crop the photos so that the uniform gave you some hint.

Hejman! I'm proud of you! Awesome quiz bro! and wow the Landon Donovan one is just god awful! And I'm not sure you can call Pete Weber an athlete, lol. Very cool, you are the man, love your quizzes.

Thanks Troublemaker. See, it's NOT a "History as we heard it" quiz! I think I agree with you on our bowling friend, but I'll avoid the "who is and is not an athlete" debate for now. Just be glad that there were no figure skating bobbleheads on ebay that day.

I thought Yao Ming was Dan Majerle with a Rockets uniform.

ptg723 I actually put in Majerle and when it didnt show up I thought what white guy would they make a bobblehead of from Houston. I wouldve guessed Ming if it looked anything like him,I just didnt bother typing it in.

I did a wider crop of the Ming bobble in order to leave the jersey in and make it more reasonable. More than 80% are getting it right, so hopefully it's helping. As I noted in one of my earlier comments, though, there are some truly awful bobbleheads that look nothing like who they're supposed to be. I saw one of Miguel Tejada that I first thought was Cal Ripken. I repeatedly saw one of A.J. Hawk that would give small children nightmares.

WHY is "shaq" hardly ever an accepted answer for Shaquille O'Neal on this site?
Hejman

Statdis- when I typed in the answers, I originally had "Shaq" accepted as an alternate. But it threatened to get ridiculous. If I accepted Shaq then why not 'Tiger' and 'LeBron' and 'Junior' etc., etc. Eventually, I just took 'Shaq' out and added the note to make it clear that first and last names or just last names would be accepted. Hopefully that lets everyone know before they start that 'Shaq' alone isn't going to cut it. For what it's worth, my 'Sports History As We Heard It 1' quiz does accept "Shaq" as an answer.

Can you accept Yao? It is his surname and is also what appears on his jersey.

Can do, NCBerge. I had "Ichiro" as an accepted answer, so I'm not sure why I didn't do the same with "Yao". Thanks for catching that.

It was fun. I missed 3 in the end. Ichiro looked too Spanish to me, though I knew that I recognized the pose. The King one was just tough. The Strahan one is obvious now with the gap in the teeth, but I was insisting it was a 49ers jersey. Fun quiz, even if Yao Ming looks like Shawn Bradley.

Totally agree Jaysee. I kept thinking it was Carmelo Anthony in a pink uniform or something.

@OilFan- only if someone lists one for sale on Ebay. All of the pictures come directly from those listings.

On the plus side for Landon Donovan, his bobble doesn't make him look that bald. On the minus side, it makes him look cross-eyed!

it would be a lot tougher if it didn't show the jerseys ex. #2,6,9

The jerseys are intended to be a specific clue as to who is in the picture, particularly for those where the bobblehead is not a very exact likeness of the athlete (i.e. #9) or where the athlete has worn a great number of different jerseys of late (i.e. #2). In others where the jersey is not shown, the decision was intentional because the bobble itself should be sufficient. I always try to have a few easy, a few hard and many in between.
