This quiz was inspired by bmcelwee's wonderful One President Per Letter quiz which was published back on April 4th and can be found here: http://www.sporcle.com/games/bmcelwee/pres_lets.

I apologize in advance if you're playing this quiz using Chrome or Internet Explorer. As of right now, it's doing something wonky and expanding the screen on those browsers. It works fine in Firefox though!

Maybe you don't have to include all of the justices, maybe one or two followed by "...". That's how it goes for all the other alphabet things. I think that would also solve the expanding thing, seeing as I'm using chrome right now. But other than the aesthetics, great quiz!

Thanks, smreidy113- I thought about doing it that way, but thought it was more educational to see all of the names. Hopefully we can figure out why it's weird in Chrome, IE and Safari but works in Firefox.

Bug fixed (thanks Sporcle!) and the quiz should present normally in all browsers now.

Good quiz, except that for the Gs, the first one ends in -burg not -berg.

Whoops! My mind had already moved on to Goldberg, I guess. I'll fix that right away.

Great quiz! I, for one, look forward to the confirmation of future justices Quincey, Umbridge, Xavier, Yates, and Zucco.

Heyyy! What kind of quiz on the Supremes is this? It wouldn't accept Diana Ross.

When I saw "Justice" and "Letters", all I thought of was D.A.N.C.E.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg? Should at least be a bonus

@deej- Ginsburg's not a bonus, she's a bona fide answer.

You should have a point deducted from your total if you guess "Bork"

Do the recent female justices consider their last names to be Bader-Ginsburg and Day-Oconnor or are their maiden names akin to first names? Also, perhaps accept Ginsberg out of leniency as that is the more common spelling for that surname.

Their last names are Ginsburg and O'Connor and their decisions are (or were, in O'Connor's case) reported under those names.

I misspoke - when I mentioned Ruth Bader Ginsburg in my since-buried comment (#3 above) I meant she should maybe be accepted as a "B." My fault for not making that clear or somehow implying she was not a worthy justice.

I didn't catch that at first, deej (but got it after pbysr's question). Still, seeing as how we don't count Nixon under the M's (Milhous) or Kennedy under the F's (Fitzgerald) I can't see adding Ginsburg under the B's. Her name appears as a "G" everywhere. Even on the Supreme Court website under the opinion listing, her authored opinions are denoted by a capital "G".

I'm English, had no idea. Thought it was worth a few guesses and I ended up with 6! Not too bad. Should have guessed Frankfurter when Burger came up though.
