Enter a team in the box below
Correctly named teams will show up below
Answers do not have to be guessed in order
The Detroit Lions are the only NFL team to ever finish a season 0-16. Can you name the teams that just missed that dubious distinction? (The NFL went to a 16 game season in 1978.)

Just an idea: how about a 3rd column of the team they beat? It wouldn't matter to me if they were hidden or shown at the start.

Great idea! Going to take me a few minutes to get the info and (note to people taking the quiz) going to look a bit weird for a moment while I add it.
Nov 25th, 2010 at 04:36 GMT
Sweet. I liked it to begin with, but I like it a lot now. I actually hadn't thought of putting the scores too. Shows you how close a lot of these teams came to 0-16, but I guess a team bad enough to lose 15 isn't going to get its one win in a blowout.
And darn it, I need to stop commenting while taking quizzes! Especially those with one minute time limits.

@Fisher_and_Diaz- I have a bank account, a charge account, no account, an account executive, I do things on account of it and frequently have to account for my actions. I do hope you'll take all of that into account. In all seriousness though, I try to do the things that Sporcle asks of me as an editor, to make helpful comments, to be available to help people with questions and to follow Sporcle etiquette. I'm not sure why you've chosen to come after me a couple of times now, but if you have concerns about how I'm doing something or questions that you'd like answered, you're welcome to email me- my address is in my profile and I'd be happy to try and be as helpful as I can.

i'm surprised the lions aren't on here. in a quiz celebrating mediocrity shouldn't the lions get at least something for losing all of their games?
Nov 25th, 2010 at 14:25 GMT
@thejoker15- The note at the top gives a nod to the Lions 0-16 season.
Nov 25th, 2010 at 18:04 GMT
I was sure the bucs would be on the list. Good quiz. Amazing how much the Rams have improved since last year.
Nov 25th, 2010 at 18:13 GMT
@midlifecrisis- The Bucs had an 0-14 season before the expansion to 16 games. @Fisher_and_Diaz- It appears that user has commented on a few of my quizzes and one of enough's. Not sure how that constitutes a "weird coincidence."

Ah yes, you've got me, Fisher_and_Diaz- in a Truman Show-esque way, I actually control every account on Sporcle but yours. The whole thing is just a ruse. In all seriousness, I can't explain the commenting or playing habits of other users and struggle to see anything nefarious in the account of someone who has played two quizzes and commented on a few others. Again, I'm not sure what I've done to cause you to be so upset with me in particular, but I wish sincerely that you'd apply the same focus and time to making more great quizzes like your Peter Griffin quiz (which I loved and rated a 5). I'd love to see you contribute great quizzes like that in the mscl. section so I could make them editor's picks.

I've made 125 quizzes. That person has commented on 4. If you'll look at my comment history you'll see that I don't rely on pseudonyms, I'm more than happy to defend the choices I've made in constructing quizzes or admit errors. There are several quizzes in which I've made 20, 30 even 35 comments. Your first charge against me was that I only made other editors quizzes into editor's picks. When the math on that one pointed out that it was false, you moved to a charge that I must be playing up my own quizzes since they fell on the user board's most played list. But my last few quizzes have gone up the board (thanks, Sporclers!), and that one isn't true either. Now, you've moved to this one. I'll say it one more time, I hold no personal animosity toward you and, in fact, really like the couple of serious quizzes that you've made. My apologies to every else taking this quiz for having to deal with this back and forth in the comments. And, my apologies for not saying it before but I hope that you (and all American spoclers) are having a blessed Thanksgiving.

I will say that the vast majority of us Sporclers find that your quizzes are consistently creative, well thought out, and fun, and I enjoy every time I see that you've made a new one.

Thanks, KansasJayhawk, that's much appreciated.

We need some more great History as we heard it quizzes from you Hejman; you don't have to it would just be nice.

Some of those teams were sooooooo close to futility! I remember in 2004 when the 49ers went 2-14, and their only two wins were against the 6-10 Cardinals, and BOTH games were won by field goals in OVERTIME!!!
