	To follow up rockgolf's (archived) comment about Parliament/Funkadelic. The main reason was that the two groups recorded on different labels. Parliament recorded for Casablanca Records while Funkadelic recorded on Westbound and then Warner Records. Also, Parliament had developed from a doo-wop group founded by Clinton known as the Parliaments, and turned into a vocal-dominated group while Clinton initially formed Funkadelic as the back-up band for Parliament. BUT, Clinton temporarily lost the rights to the Parliaments name and recorded as Funkadelic for a couple of years. Once he regained the rights to the Parliaments name, he changed it to Parliament and created a separate legal group. After Casablanca Records collapsed, Clinton dissolved both groups but eventually recorded with many members of the whole collective before officially restoring the group as the P-Funk All-Stars. (And that is the SHORT version of the history.)

	As I was playing this, I was asking myself, "What makes these so strange?" And then I realized, I listen to most of these bands, no wonder this was so easy. :) Finally a music Sporcle with decent bands!

	@Khazar49- If you thought 'the artist formerly known as Prince' was weird, you should check out more information about ? and the Mysterians. From their Wikipedia page: "The band's frontman and primary songwriter was ?. He claimed (and still claims) to be a Martian who lived with dinosaurs in a past life, and he never appears in public without sunglasses. He talks about traveling into the future and visiting other planets, asserting that he has done so. No other witnesses are known to have shared his questionable claims." The article there is actually a funny read in that dozens of sentences begin with a question mark.

	One pick: "20" is accepted for Matchbox Twenty, but "3" isn't accepted for Three Dog Night. Other than that, excellent quiz. And thanx for including so many really great bands.

	it's true that a lot of these names are odd, but some of these aren't that weird. smashing pumpkins, three dog night, and rage against the machine all make sense when you understand the background of the bands or what the phrase means.
