Can you add a link back to Graham Smith's site? (PS: These are great.)
Oct 26th, 2010 at 23:16 GMT
Sorry- meant for that link to be there! I'll add it right away.

What a cool idea!
Oct 27th, 2010 at 01:44 GMT
You should probably change the description. It gives away 3 of the answers.
Oct 27th, 2010 at 02:03 GMT
Ah.. yes. Good point, mungar!
Oct 27th, 2010 at 02:04 GMT
Also, many thanks to dldove77 who saw these and suggested the idea for the quiz to me and, of course, to Graham Smith who was nice enough to let me use them.

Fun quiz, but I got 2 freebies from the notes. I knew eBay, but not the others. I was so sure Pepsi was going to be right.
Oct 27th, 2010 at 04:31 GMT
Notes changed- no more freebies!
Oct 27th, 2010 at 04:37 GMT
I thought Microsoft was Twister.
Oct 27th, 2010 at 05:10 GMT
^^ I also thought the same about Microsoft/Twister. This was very tricky... and I was hoping for an un-evolved Sporcle logo on here too!
Oct 27th, 2010 at 05:29 GMT
@FreakyFlyBry- Trust me, if the artist had done a Sporcle logo, I'd have it in here. Maybe he'll do one now that he's a Sporcle quiz!

Could you allow for people to enter Windows instead of Microsoft? Otherwise quite good
Oct 27th, 2010 at 06:12 GMT
Amazing that the brain can see something in those. Very cool.
Oct 27th, 2010 at 11:45 GMT
@milc- Windows is great suggestion- adding it right away. Thanks!
Oct 27th, 2010 at 15:10 GMT
Good idea this. Did manage to type in 'Twister' for the Microsoft logo though... not my finest hour!
Oct 27th, 2010 at 15:17 GMT
Don't know why, but I was writing Lidl for Ikea.
Oct 27th, 2010 at 17:48 GMT
Super-cool, kinda like learning a new language (albeit slowly: 11/25). See you on the front page!

My brain doesn't work this way, but great quiz anyway!
Oct 27th, 2010 at 22:20 GMT
Some of the letters use two circles if they are ascenders or descenders.
Oct 27th, 2010 at 22:21 GMT
Looked at LG and said that's not the T-Mobile logo.
Oct 27th, 2010 at 22:35 GMT
Good point, daHOOK- two of the logos do that for the lower case letters 'l' and 'g' (though, interestingly, not LG). Let me tinker with the language of the note a bit and I'll change it so it's not misleading.

Kyrgyzstan should be a bonus answer
Oct 28th, 2010 at 09:58 GMT
It's an interesting quiz, but some of the logos really do need quite a lot of imagination/ artistic interpretation. I mean, the Gap logo is always square. I can't imagine how anyone could get the Budweiser logo. As for the Starbucks one, the colour in the middle is incorrect - and Graham Smith the artist has corrected it on his website.
Oct 28th, 2010 at 14:27 GMT
Billsfan, I'm not at all saying all quizzes should be easy and the answers obvious, just trying to give constructive feedback. If we're looking at shapes, then the Gap logo here looks much more like the ABC logo. If we're just concentrating on colours, then the 'Ex' in the FedEx logo is generally orange, the Apple logo is currently a shiny glass colour, and the Starbucks logo is definitely black in the middle.
Oct 28th, 2010 at 15:55 GMT
@hellofromUK- Mr. Smith has updated the Starbucks one since I made this quiz a few days ago. I'll update it ASAP. The Apple logo is depicted in a number of ways, including silver, black and white. The shape is what remains consistent. The FedEx logo is orange in print sometimes, but is generally a bright red on its trucks and planes. Based on your suggestion, though, I think I'm going to add ABC as an alternate answer for the Gap. Thanks so much for your suggestions- always helpful!

A very original quiz. It's really challenging, because everything looks so familiar, but you just can't quite put your finger on what company it is.
Oct 30th, 2010 at 03:32 GMT
I think more correctly, the logo shown is the Windows logo, and not the Microsoft logo. The Microsoft logo is just "Microsoft" written in an italicized font.
Oct 30th, 2010 at 04:16 GMT
I had "Windows" as an alternate, but I've switched them around so "Microsoft" is the alternate and "Windows" is what's displayed.
Oct 30th, 2010 at 08:36 GMT
i typed in ABC and Gap came up
Oct 31st, 2010 at 03:04 GMT
Ikea looks like it could be Napa too.
Oct 31st, 2010 at 03:27 GMT
That's right, yodaman69. The logo was created by the designer from the GAP logo, but the ABC logo would be nearly identical (it's currently three white letters on a black background). In light of the similarities, I added ABC as an alternate answer for that question.
Oct 31st, 2010 at 20:35 GMT
Awesome. It's amazing how recognizable the logos are even broken down like this.
