| This is my line of work, and seeing it every day, it's surprising which places are "safe" and which others aren't. I agree with the source when he cites per capita death rates, but when he puts North Korea on the list, for example, he strays... if you're in North Korea *illegally* like those journalists, sure, you're in trouble. (What would the US do if someone happened to walk across the border illegally and get caught? Yeah, that's what I thought.) But if you're there on a tour, you're practically guaranteed to come out safe and sound. Same for most any ridiculously paranoid country, or any place where the local intelligence agency follows you around the whole time-- you may feel ooked out, but you're 100% safe. |
