	I'm a bit surprised. When I include Ankara to the European Capitals I get the same complaining reactions as when I don't include it. Ankara is the capital of a country usually considered European here on Sporcle.

	I'm not sure that Sporcle does consider Turkey to be "European": rather it includes Turkey in lists of both European and Asian countries (likewise Russia). The vast majority of Turkey (both land and population) is, of course, situated in Asia - including its capital Ankara.

	I think it's acceptable o include Turkey in both Europe and Asia quizzes. Geographically, the vast majority is in Asia. Politically, it's in both. In the next 2 to 5 years Turkey will probably join the EU, so it'd be silly not to include it as Europe then.

	Is the omission of Dar es Salaam as an alternative capital of Tanzania purposeful?

	There is a difference between physical geography and political geography. Even if Turkey joins the EU, a majority of its territory will always be in Asia, and therefore I think that, unless otherwise specified, Ankara should never be considered "European" on quizzes like this (though I can certainly understand the other side of the argument). By this rationale, Moscow would be considered an Asian capital, but we don't do that here do we?

	Geographically, Moscow is in Europe, since it is WEST of the Urals, and thus should not be considered an Asian capital. Consequently, Ankara is in Asia because it is in the Asian portion of Turkey.

	Please alter the quiz so that 'Saint John's' and 'Saint George's' are also acceptable answers. Other than that, a good quiz - and Ankara is both European and Asian by Sporcle standards - and in my opinion, the relevant standards to abide by. Leave the debating for political websites and geography experts. We're here to have fun.

	I think these games usually use the political capital (eg Pretoria in South Africa) The general assembly has been meeting in Dodoma since 1996, whilst Dar is still the comercial capital and has some government deparments, this makes Dodoma the political capital. However there is a strong argument for Dar. I guess whichever city you use someones going to be unhappy, I'd pesonally say Dodoma but as you can see above some would go for Dar.

	also, geographical issues over whether something's in europe or asia? Geographically, everything in europe is in asia because it's a tiny peninsula on western asia...
