I apologize about Van Buren, there was no easy way to do that without allowing "Buren" as an answer, or forcing you to put first names for everything, so i had to condense Van Buren to one word. If you have a suggestion on how to fix it, let me know.

Judging by my own score and the others who got 100%, I think you either need to reduce the time and not give the years and/or states served. Right now, it's too easy. Great quiz idea though.

You're probably right, I think 5 minutes is enough for any fast typer to blitz all the presidents. I think I'll cut down on the time and if that doesn't work, I'll get rid of the years too.

i was unaware that James Monroe governed Virginia for 103 years. When did he ever find the time to be president???

Hahahaha...complete typo, thanks for the humor rather than calling me an idiot for the mistake; I'll fix it immediately.

Fun quiz, still a bit too much time I think, or at least put the names out of order to make it more challenging.

Thanks Sally, I kinda forgot that I put them in order, I can fix that fairly quickly.

Okay, I rearranged the order. If there is still too much time, someone let me know and I'll drop it to 2 minutes.

You forgot Theodore Roosevelt (governor of New York 1898-1900).

You'll have to add Schwarzenegger in 8 years. I know it sounds preposterous now, but who would have thought 8 years ago that he would be governor?

it's preposterous because you have to be born in the US to ever become president and arnold wasn't.

I'd subtract a little time since someone can just type all the presidents in without any thought

agree with subtracting time, or maybe require box-specific answers/ in order.

Was there an order to the list? It jumped all around and that threw me a bit. Nice quiz though.

I almost gave SoSoSmart a negative b/c mcory's quote was minimized and w/o context I thought he was calling the law that you have to be natural born preposterous. Which, it might be, but that's besides the point - who wants Arnie as the President?

Even if the constitution is changed, there's pretty much zero chance that someone who supports same-sex marriage is going to win a nationwide Republican primary anytime soon. I'd put the odds of a President Schwarzenegger at about 1 in a thousand.

Most of them weren't that hard because they were governor fairly recently before becoming president. The one who was gov of Virginia until 1827 was an exception, and so was more difficult.

It's interesting that a lot of names on the list were folks that were one-termers or did not serve a full term. There are a few on there that are generally regarded as among the best of all time, but with the list skewed toward those who didn't run or win re-election to a second term I wonder what this says about being a governor as preparation or qualification for President?

I kept wanting Andy Jackson to have been a governor of Tennessee, but eventually I got it right. To the person who doesn't like US presidents' quizzes, here is a clue: don't open them.

Based on the page source Jackson, as well as William Harrison, is a bonus answer. Not that it accepts it though.

just shave off a minute because u can just type all the presidents, but other than that, it was a good idea and a good quiz...(obviously if it was published, it was a good quiz)

stugenvier these quizzes are over represented especially on the user created pages. I used to think sporcle users were intelligent but history seems to consist solely of the US presidency, and literature doesn't extent beyond Harry Potter. It's a shame because the site has become boring. How many times do people want to type out the same 44 names?
