I'm surprised there aren't enough Russians East of the Ural mountains for their language to crack the top 50.

One could argue that Russian is a specifically European language despite Russia's dual-continental nature

What about Khmer? Also "Uighur", "Sinhalese" and "Nepalese" should be accepted as alternate spellings.

Yeah, it seems that the source has for some reason only counted speakers in countries where the language is official, and ignored the millions of Khmer speakers in Thailand, etc. - not really sure what the logic there is. I really enjoy this kind of quiz though!

Accept Cambodian (an awful lot of people don't call it Khmer, me included) and accept Baluchi for Balochi.

@loganite: Many Russians west of the Ural Mountains don't speak Russian as a first language, but rather specific regional languages.

Cebuano seems not to have made it onto this list, despite the source saying it has 16m L1 speakers?
