This is great!

I like the quiz. You should accept some answers without the "s". I tried onion, cracker and banana with no luck. I don't think the "s" is needed for the answers to make them right.

maybe a few more alternative answers...like for padded cell...i had tried padded room, i think that should count.

I really thought a mattress store would have a lot of beds...

I agree you need more alternative answers and also you spelt jewellery wrong, or is that how you spell it in the US?

Anyone else type "Paul McCartney" for the ninth category?

This was really cool, I've been waiting for someone to do this for a long time. What would have been really interesting, is if you somehow found a way to survey Sporcle users, and make the quiz based on the most popular answers from the questions you asked us.
Mar 9th, 2010 at 13:11 GMT
@Saulmeister: I think Sporcle should have have polls. That way people would get an accurate way of surveying users instead of these "answer one and give up" quizzes. However, it might not get used that often.

I was amazed at some of the answers - VCR??!! - until I looked at the source and found it was from 2001. Maybe you should note this in your header?
Mar 9th, 2010 at 17:29 GMT
maybe accept oven for stove?
Mar 9th, 2010 at 17:43 GMT
@Saulmeister: That's a good idea in theory. The only problem is execution. I'm sure I could create a quiz asking for certain questions...but how would it get plays to stay on top?
@abanazerb: It's actually from the 90s. The source is a Super Nintendo Game. It was the only one I could find that actually gives answers.
@ Everyone else, thanks for the feedback

I loved your quiz. Family Feud is a great game, and sporcle is perfect for guessing something like this. But one request..please accept more alternates. On the show, contestants would not have to answer exactly. There was a lot of leeway. Insect would have been accepted for butterfly. I said football equipment for something that is padded, but it wasn't accepted. Then I tried shoulder pads...still no. I know it's hard to think of everything that people would say. Maybe as people tell you things they typed in that are virtually the same thing, you can add some alternates. But I did enjoy the quiz. By the way, if you want to do a sequel, you could get the info from those page-a-day Family Feud calendars. My mom has one of those. The top answers are always listed on those. Thanks for the fun!:)

@triviahappy: thanks for playing! I tried to think of as many alternates as possible but it was quite difficult. Anyone that has difficulty with this quiz, please post your alternates and I'll adjust it accordingly!

accept motel for the hotel answer?
Mar 10th, 2010 at 10:26 GMT
One thing about the Family Feud is that there's a judge who'll allow a variety of similar answers. For example, I tried "cosmetics" which this quiz didn't accept as "make-up," but which would have worked on the TV show.
Mar 11th, 2010 at 14:49 GMT
good idea for a quiz!
Mar 11th, 2010 at 16:04 GMT
Accept clothing for clothes? More alternatives in general. Otherwise this was awesome!
Mar 11th, 2010 at 19:44 GMT
accept "football players" for "football uniform"
Mar 11th, 2010 at 22:39 GMT
Couldn't you accept sports equipment? bubblegum? jam?
Mar 11th, 2010 at 23:12 GMT
Can you accept clothing for clothes?
Mar 12th, 2010 at 00:47 GMT
All suggested alternates have been added. Please post more you think of!

What 6 people answered Pegasus for something with wings? ...Bastards!!
Mar 17th, 2010 at 05:54 GMT
@mr pot: I typed it in as a joke, was quite surprised

How is bacon not in the food recognized by odors? I mean it smells sooo good
Mar 22nd, 2010 at 05:22 GMT
i typed in red bull for something with wings question before i realized that it didn't make any sense
Mar 24th, 2010 at 18:05 GMT
I love this kind of quiz! @mr pot: Pegasus was the first thing I typed, before birds even. :P God knows why. The "carrying sleeping children" question was odd... I only got one answer for that, and only because I started to type in "fairy" for something with wings. But still, I give it five blobs!
Mar 28th, 2010 at 19:44 GMT
Perhaps you could accept "appearance" for "looks", "seat" for "chair" and "Valentine's" or "Valentine" for Valentine's Day.

Good quiz - I think Shopping Centre should be accepted for Mall
Jun 26th, 2010 at 12:58 GMT
No Popsicle for the stick question? Really?
Jun 27th, 2010 at 03:23 GMT
@TheQuiz Same here with "smile" for something people wear every day. Seriously, someone actually answered with that?
Jul 5th, 2010 at 22:56 GMT
the first time i saw family feud i thought it was gonna be familys wrestling each other
Jul 8th, 2010 at 13:31 GMT
I can't believe that 100 people surveyed have never smelled bacon before...
Jul 11th, 2010 at 23:19 GMT
make more of these quizzes! Love it

Somehow, I guessed smile but I didn't get hotel or jelly...
Jul 15th, 2010 at 19:49 GMT
Well GoBullz12, you may not be the next Richard Dawson, Ray Combs, Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, or John O'Hurley, but I will say this was pretty well done. A little refinement might be necessary (the judges on Family Feud would have given me credit for some of my answers), but pretty solid nonetheless.
Jul 16th, 2010 at 00:46 GMT
Aeroplane should be accepted.
Jul 19th, 2010 at 22:11 GMT
I typed in "Hooters" for Wings and couldn't believe that nothing came up.
Jul 22nd, 2010 at 23:00 GMT
My only complaint: Family Feud answers always suck. I like playing it but then get really annoyed when I see the answers. Seriously, not one of the people they asked said "bed shop"? It's *always* my first thought!
