| reyj - This is all old info now, with the new division alignments that were announced last night (and the quiz has been updated accordingly), but OSU and Illinois did *not* play every year under the old system, despite it being a trophy game. See the 2003 and 2004 schedules for example. "Protected Rivalry" simply meant that the game was scheduled every year.
Of course, going forward they will play every year, not because of being a protected rivalry, but because of being in the same division. |
