| The Vatican is rich asset-wise, but that doesn't mean it has a particularly high GDP. Remember, we're comparing to GDP, not to per capita GDP, and the Vatican probably has by far the highest ratio of tourists to permanent inhabitants of any country in the world. It looks like it wasn't included on the list at all, presumably because it's too small and integrated into the Italian economy to make computing or even defining its GDP at all reasonable. My guess is that it would top the list for just about any definition you came up with, though... |
